Calling it a War on Women disrespects war?

LOVE this Daily Show bit, calling out Fox News for saying that talking about a War on Women disrespects war after years of telling us there's a war on Christmas, a war on conservative values, a war on... whatever they feel like yammering about this week.

Also catch the words coming out of the Grothman's mouth at the start of the segment. REALLY? Men need to be paid more, because they expect to be breadwinners?

I think some words are used colloquially in a way that is not as serious as an alternate meaning. And that's probably okay. I don't think people are confusing a "war on women" with the reality of being shot at, or a "lab nazi" TA with Adolf Hitler, or "abusing the system" with a parent beating a toddler. I understand why some people find it upsetting if "war" or "porn" or whatever are triggery words, but I think there is a lack of bad intention on the part of the user that needs to be considered. English is a colorful language that lends itself easily to metaphor.

Because Fox has been so, so very guilty of doing this in the past, they are kinda idiots throwing stones in the proverbial glass house for even bringing this up.
