Cameron, who was there to speak about his new documentary "Monumental: In Search of America's National Treasure," was reported to have a strict rule of not taking photos with a woman alone. The actor and Christian evangelist was being interviewed by Washington Examiner's political gossip columnist Nikki Schwab when TWT's opinion editor Emily Miller tried to take a photo of Cameron talking to Schwab, according to Mediabistro.

But one of Cameron's people reportedly quickly pushed Miller to prevent the photo (she has a blurry photo instead). His people reportedly told Miller that "He can't be photographed alone with a woman."

Sounds like he's covering his ass. If he ever gets confronted with, ehem, 'evidence' of inappropriate relations he can cite this rule and cry "'shopped!"

When you start trying so hard to be a "good" Christian to such a ridiculous degree, there is usually something underlying you are trying to hide. Kirk Cameron is such a non-issue in the world right now that it isn't going to cause a scandal if he is photographed with a woman at public event. He should be so lucky if there was a scandal, real or imagined, at least it might make him somewhat relevant again.

He's heading into Ultra-Orthodox levels of misogyny. Next thing you know he will only release copies of his movies in which all women have been completely covered with censor bars.

I am going to quote scripture. Please bare with me FJ. I think its important to show these people how they have strayed from Jesus

Matthew 23:25 KJV "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess."

He became a millionaire because of his role in Growing Pains, a show he quit when he converted to Christianity. He called the show "smut" and "pornography" in a call to ABC's president because a script called for his character's girlfriend offering him a key to her place (irony alert- he and that actress married when he was 18 and before the show ended...but not a single member of the cast attended, and it hasn't been specified if no one wanted to go or it they weren't invited). So I wonder why he hasn't given away all the money he made doing something so "dirty."

I was baring with you, I got my tits out when I read that. :D

Seriously though, you are correct. These people don't even live by their own rules. If cameras were around in Jesus's day I doubt he would have been bothered if someone photographed him talking to the woman at the well.

In her biography, Tracey Gold wrote that the cast was not invited to Kirk's wedding. They didn't even know about it until after the fact and they were hurt when he told him the wedding was only for close family and friends, since by that time they'd all been working together for years. Tracey also mentioned that Kirk had a lot of power with the network and if he thought a storyline wasn't wholesome, he would have it changed. But she didn't go into detail about any of this. The book is mainly about Tracey's struggle with anorexia. Toward the end of "Growing Pains", she was so out of it that she didn't pay much attention to what anyone else was doing. She doesn't even remember when Leonardo DiCaprio was on the show.

I remember him refusing to take off his wedding ring for the time he remained on the show and how they had to re-write his character. He turned into Theo Huxtable, without the education. They brought in Leo DiCaprio as the boy he saves from the mean streets. Franklly, Leo (who was about 15 to Kirk's 19-20) was by far the best actor on the show.

Speaking of Camerons, is Candace still on the fundie train? Did the Russki hockey player (who was actually an all-star when she married him) buy into it as well? IIRC, she too was born again around age 17 like Kirkiepoo.

FLora, I never heard about that in her book. The last article I read about the wedding said it wasn't known the reason for them not being there. Heh. The least he could have done was told them about it ahead of time and that it was immediate family only or something. He had to have known they would find out.

Marm, I remember when Mike went from fun to basically being a stick-in-the-mud. The show would have gone downhill if Leo wasn't, well, I swore I was in love with him from the first second Luke Bower appeared.

Yes, Candace is still on the train. I see late-night infomercials with her sometimes and change the channel.

He was a Christian before he left the show. He even had someone fired from GP because she had posed in Playboy. He's a class A piece of shit.

Yup, she is still riding that train right at the front. I believe she and Valeri own a winery now. I don't think they are as fundie as Kirk as Valeri competed in Battle of the Blades on CBC in 2010. I doubt Kirk would approve of some of the positions they had to get into.

Mike Seaver Kirk Cameron always struck me as an angry Christian. He doesn't seem at peace with religion at all. It's as if he's got something to prove about his religion and everyone better damn well listen to his beliefs! Plus, he's a douche of a highest power. I will laugh my ass off when/if he gets caught in some sort of compromising position with a man (especially if those rumours are true about him).

He was a staunch atheist until he was about 17, then he found Jesus hiding behind the couch, and that's when Mike Seaver went from being a normal girl-crazy boy to grade-A dip-shit. I remember that one woman being fired. It's outrageous how much clout he was given.
