The Hs are doing their own kitchen repairs as I guess the insurance company was unwilling to spring for all the stuff they claimed was damaged. Shall we guess what the new kitchen will contain?

Meanwhile, Abbie and Shaun are vacationing in Banff for Abbie’s birthday.

Wow, you mean Zsu’s a better grifter than Braggie? I’m mildly surprised.

Zoo actually is a very good grifter. She’s probably up there with JB.

They were told they were too close to the elk. They didn’t think so, and saw no reason to move back. They would 100% totally deserve it if they were charged.

She’s the type that would stand within range of a nuclear test, be told to skedaddle but not move because she doesn’t think it’s that dangerous and she can’t see or feel the nuclear fallout and others are also in range so they must be fine. Sheesh.

This is extremely Braggie. She’s special. She doesn’t have to follow any rules! God loves her more than everyone else. So she can do what she wants. She’s just like JillRod in this way.

Pictures of elk and of Braggie and Shaun.  Who flies to Canada for their birthday anyway?  Did he have some work meeting and took her along or did they just fly up?  Must be nice to have that kind of money on top of money for renovating the kitchen.

Its hard to believe that this is a real person and not a parody of an entitled middle class white woman. Her face is so damn smug.

"The elk were in no way seeming threatened by us"

Umm, thank you Abbie, Wildlife Expert. Its a good thing she was there to tell the staff how to do their jobs. She also uses the JillRod method of defending her actions by letting her audience know that other people were also being stupid therefore it's ok.

Omg, she really does deserve to be trampled by the elk. I live in Alberta and so have been to Banff and Jasper many times. I'm always nervous about getting too close to the elk even when it isn't rutting season. I know in Jasper they actually close off certain areas from people during rutting season to prevent any unfortunate encounters.

She also looks like she's shoving Shaun out of the way to get in front. I don't believe it's photoshopped but it's awkward enough that it could be.

I should have added in my previous post that at least in my experience, a lot of tourists are incredibly stupid around wildlife. So Abbie was correct that lots of other people were as close as her. I haven't been to the mountains for several years but I have witnessed in the past, people getting close enough that they could touch the elk and someone actually trying to pet an elk.

Many of those tourists seemed to come from countries where there wasn't that sort of large wildlife. But still the whole thing seemed ridiculous to me. They are wild animals not pets! I wouldn't try to touch a squirrel either.

I’m the opposite. I swear I’m always the one trying to give all the animals space while my kids want to get close. I’m always having to pull them away. We love animals in my family. But I feel like I’m the only one giving them all the space. My older son is getting better. I swear my kids would act exactly like Braggie and say, “but everyone else are close!” She’s such a child.

On Abbie's Instagram, she has a picture of herself in Banff.  It looks like they've been riding bicycles.  One of her fans commented, "Happy happy birthday! You are such a light in this dark world!"  I might have to go throw up.

I'm scared for the children of anyone who finds Braggie inspiring.

How the ELF are they able to manage this? Who's looking after their children?

They have surrogate parents in Abbie’s parents. I think Shaun’s are helpful too. You choose to have 10 kids, make them your priority, IMO. Nobody wants to take on 10 extra kids.

Yep. On most days, Braggie doesn’t do much parenting. The oldest 5 take care of the youngest 5. And then Braggie’s mom homeschools them. It’s probably why Ezra isn’t going off to college. Braggie needs him to do her parenting for her.

I was once was in like 2 or 3 feet of a moose. It was delightful. Except the moose was made of solid chocolate so it was OK. Now I'm trying to figure out if I would rather be that close to an elk or that close to Braggie. It is a very hard choice.

I was once within uncomfortably close range of a cow moose, in a campground in Newfoundland. It went charging through a roadside ditch like a freight train, and nothing could have stopped it! The campground had signage warning us to avoid certain areas and warning us not to pitch tents along the moose tracks, because the moose would automatically trample them down.

***TRIGGER WARNING***

Many years ago, I stumbled across footage of a moose that had made its way into the downtown area of a small town and trampled a man to death on a sidewalk.

I posted on the Jill thread about how bears were treated in stat parks in the first half of the 20th century. They would have a bear feeding area that was extremely popular with tourists. The bears would come each day to be fed by the park and the people would just sit there and watch. The bears got more and more used to being fed by people that they came to expect it. Which of course led to bear attacks. It took people being killed for them to actually stop doing reckless things like feeding wild bears.

Yes, *wild* animals are called "wild" for a reason.

Good thing that was not a buffalo although all bets are off on elk when itʻs rutting season.

I don’t even let my kids near deer. I worked in a restaurant of a state park when I was in college. People loved to feed the deer. There were tons of deer all over that state park. But the deer knew people would feed them at the lodge. I would walk out to my car in the parking lot and the deer would walk up to me expecting food. I never gave them any and never touched them. I know deer are not known for attacking. But I see them like horses. You spook them or freak them out and you can get kicked very quickly. So leave them alone.
