Hope she asks Stefanie Lambert Juntilla about the "line of US Supreme Court cases too numerous to mention" and ask why she couldn't mention them?  And why she tried to pull something that probably would have had a law student getting a good talking to by a school's dean and other administrators?

Hey stupid your campaign fund is not your personal slush fund to go to a fuck face rally.

Quote

Wisconsin Democrats filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission against a Republican congressional candidate alleging he used campaign funds to pay for a trip to Washington D.C. where he attended a rally that preceded the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol.

The complaint filed Monday by Devin Remiker, senior elections director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, alleges Third Congressional District candidate Derrick Van Orden improperly used leftover money raised by his 2020 congressional campaign against U.S. Rep. Ron Kind to pay for hotel and airfare costs to Washington the week of the Jan. 6 attack.

Money raised by campaigns may be used only for campaign-related travel expenses, according to federal election laws. On Jan. 6, Van Orden's 2020 campaign was over and he had not yet launched his current campaign against Kind.

"Van Orden was and is free to use his personal bank account to travel around the country for any causes he deems worthy of his time. But, he is prohibited by the (Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971) from using his campaign funds for such personal activity," the complaint says. "His campaign account is not his personal travel slush fund."

Yeah of course his people are now whining and trying to deflect away.

Wow: "Family of five charged for allegedly storming the Capitol after tipster provides social media screenshots"

Quote

For five people arrested this week after they were charged by federal prosecutors for allegedly storming the U.S. Capitol, the Jan. 6 insurrection appeared to be a family affair.

The Munn family traveled from Borger, Tex., about 45 miles northeast of Amarillo, to Washington for the deadly riot, federal investigators said in a criminal complaint filed Monday.

Dawn and Thomas Munn, as well as their children Kristi, Kayli and Joshua Munn, were charged with disorderly conduct and illegally entering and parading in the Capitol. Another child, an unnamed minor, also entered the Capitol, investigators said, but was not charged.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Dawn and Thomas Munn are in their 50s and at least two of the children are in their 20s.

Investigators used photos from Facebook and Snapchat, as well as security footage from the Capitol, to identify the family members’ alleged movements on Jan. 6. A relative of Kristi Munn’s fiance had seen Kristi’s posts on Facebook and Snapchat and provided screenshots to the FBI, investigators said.

The Munn family’s alleged participation in the riot is part of a dynamic that has played out since Jan. 6, with many people reporting friends and family members they suspect participated in the insurrection to the FBI. A college freshman in Texas also reported his father for threatening to do “something big” before he stormed the Capitol.

According to authorities, Kristi Munn posted a photo on Facebook, before the Capitol was breached, that showed the family dressed in camouflage. It was captioned: “Washington D.C. here we come!!!" The family stayed in a hotel near Washington after driving 1,600 miles in 24 hours, Thomas Munn wrote in a Facebook post cited in the complaint.

Kristi, Thomas, Dawn, Joshua and Kayli Munn entered the Capitol by crawling through a window at around 2:25 p.m. on Jan. 6, according to investigators.

A few minutes after entering, all six family members were seen allegedly moving from the crypt toward the visitor center, with Kristi Munn cloaked in a Trump flag.

Teachers from a high school and a college in Borger who had taught some of the Munn family members also reviewed photos of the family and confirmed their identities.

It was not immediately clear if the family had legal representation. In a phone interview with an FBI agent, Kristi Munn admitted to traveling to Washington to see then-President Donald Trump speak, but denied going inside the Capitol or committing any crimes there.

But in messages on Facebook obtained by investigators through search warrants, Kristi wrote to someone named Jarod on Jan. 7, “We were in the capital!!” She asked him to “keep that bit of info on the [down low] for right now.”

According to the complaint, she posted a status update the same day: “Tear gas tastes like freedom #StopTheSteal #TrumpIsMyPresident.” Someone commented asking if she knew that from experience. “I do now,” she replied.

In another message, Kristi wrote she had taken so many videos of the riot that her phone ran out of storage. Instead, she used a minor child’s phone to record more. Investigators said it did not appear that this child traveled to Washington with the family.

Dawn, Thomas, Kristi and Kayli Munn were arrested on Tuesday in Borger, court records show. Joshua Munn was arrested in Melrose, Wis., about 100 miles northwest of Madison. Joshua, who has a legal hearing next week, was subsequently released from custody.

More than 500 people have been arrested in participating in the riot, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced last month.

"Man who dangled from Senate balcony pleads guilty in Capitol riots, will cooperate against others"

Quote

An Idaho man photographed hanging from the Senate balcony and sitting in the presiding officer’s chair in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony obstruction of Congress, admitting to joining a group who came to Washington armed with firearms, knives and body armor to support President Donald Trump.

Josiah B. Colt, 34, became the latest defendant to agree to cooperate in the breach investigation, seeking to pare down a possible recommended five-year prison sentence.

Though Colt is not accused of being part of a larger militia-like group, he admitted in plea papers to joining at least two men from Nevada and Tennessee who arranged travel, raised funds, bought paramilitary gear and recorded themselves before breaking in to the building and rushing to the Senate just evacuated by lawmakers.

“My fellow patriot Josiah Colt sleeping ready for the boogaloo Jan 6,” one of the others, alleged QAnon follower Ronald Sandlin, posted on Facebook on Jan. 4, according to plea papers. The post included a picture of Colt in a bed holding a handgun, and used a term taken up by fringe groups referring to civil war, Colt acknowledged in plea papers.

In a group video recorded before the riot, Sandlin “urge[d] other patriots” watching to “take the Capitol” and said “there is going to be violence,” according to plea papers.

“We are going to be there [the Capitol] back by one o’clock when it is action time it is game time,” Sandlin added in plea documents. That hour, prosecutors said, was the time Congress convened to confirm the 2020 presidential election and the moment members of the pro-Trump mob began confronting police and charging barricades outside the building.

In a plea hearing, U.S. District Judge Thomas F. Hogan of Washington read from Colt’s signed statement of facts and plea deal in which prosecutors agreed to drop three misdemeanor charges in exchange for his full cooperation.

“You not only got into the Senate gallery, but you sat in the presiding officer’s chair, which you mistakenly thought was Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi’s chair, is that an accurate summary?” Hogan said.

Colt said yes. But he added that his pose in the photo was “kind of a joke.” He also said he did not know the meaning of “boogaloo” at that time, and that, “taken out of context, it looks worse that it is.”

Hogan did not set a sentencing date, but directed Colt to return to court on Oct. 18 after cooperating with prosecutors.

In plea papers, Colt admitted to discussing plans in a video before the riot with Sandlin, of Memphis, and Nate DeGrave, of Las Vegas.

Both men have since been charged and held pending trial. DeGrave, 31 at the time of his arrest, has pleaded not guilty to a nine-count indictment including obstruction of an official proceeding, civil disorder and impeding police.

Sandlin, 33 when arrested, also pleaded not guilty to a similar 11-count indictment.

“Mr. DeGrave looks forward to his day in Court and being acquitted,” defense attorney John Pierce said. “In the course of his and other trials, we are going to expose what actually happened on January 6, 2021, and who exactly was behind it. The nation cannot move forward until that occurs.”

Sandlin’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to Colt’s plea papers read by the judge, Sandlin in a Dec. 23 Facebook post asked who would join him on Jan. 6 to “stop the steal and stand behind Trump when he decides to cross the rubicon.”

Sandlin in a Dec. 31 post announced plans to travel with DeGrave and Colt, organize a “caravan of patriots” and raise money.

The post contained a link to a GoFundMe page with Sandlin’s face superimposed on a person in a car holding what appears to be a gold-plated semiautomatic rifle and a caption that read in part, “Ronnie Sandlin needs your support for Patriots Defending Our Country On Jan 6th,” according to plea papers.

Colt traveled to Washington with a Glock .43 pistol, and he and Sandlin posted pictures of recent purchases including a holster, gas masks and helmet, plea papers stated. The three drove to Washington from Tennessee in a rental car with those items, an M&P bodyguard pocket pistol, two magazines of ammunition, bear spray, a handheld stun gun, body armor, expandable baton, walkie talkies and knives, Colt admitted.

Colt admitted bringing the pistol to a pro-Trump rally in Washington on Jan. 5, but left it in his Virginia hotel room the next day, plea papers said.

Marching from a Trump-led rally at the Ellipse to the Capitol that afternoon, the three learned that Vice President Mike Pence had not intervened to stop the certification of the election of Joe Biden. Arriving at the Capitol, Colt repeatedly yelled “Breach the building,” the group entered the Rotunda and Colt said numerous times, “Let’s get to the Senate, bro,” adding “where they’re meeting,” Colt acknowledged.

Once there, Colt said in plea papers that he saw Sandlin and DeGrave try to shove their way past police officers and gain access to the Senate gallery after Sandlin punched a police officer.

Colt jumped to the Senate floor, where DeGrave yelled at him to take documents and laptops from the Senate floor, but he refused, according to plea papers.

Prosecutors have not said why they have charged the men individually, instead of as a group. Prosecutors have said they investigated the men for conspiracy but did not charge that offense, as they have members of the Proud Boys, a far-right group with a history of violence, and the Oath Keepers.

Personally, I think he should get a lot more than five years.

He participated in an insurrection. He participated in breaking into the Capitol. He participated in attacking Capitol police and Congressmen -- which for some lead to permanent injury and death. And all he gets charged with is obstructing an official proceeding?

I have no words.

What the Hell? That's all you get for breaking into the Capital during an armed attack?

It’s worse than you think. You see, he wasn’t even charged with breaking and entering, so he actually got away with it.

I can only understand it if those charges are still pending, or if he cut a deal and aided prosecutors in identifying many other participants in the insurrection.

First Federal official charged

Quote

A federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent who was on leave and planned to resign was arrested Tuesday for illegally entering Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, according to court filings.

Why it matters: Mark Sami Ibrahim is the first federal law enforcement officer charged in connection to the insurrection.

Details: Ibrahim was part of the mob that crowded onto U.S. Capitol grounds on Jan. 6. Court filings show he climbed on the Peace Memorial and posed for several photographs in which his DEA badge and firearm are displayed.

He was in a WhatsApp group chat with at least five other law enforcement officers, the filings noted. He later took a video of himself standing inside overrun barricades and posted it to the WhatsApp group.

Qevin McCarthy (Q-Idiot) should look like a pretzel for all the twisting he's doing.

By the way, Qev, Congress can't activate the National Guard. And, even if they could, why aren't you blaming Mitch?

If this is true— it either explains a lot, or it raises even more questions. If Buckley Carlson was inside the Capitol, was he there with the insurrectionists, then it explains Tucker Carlson’s push to cover it all up. If his son was in the building because of his work for Banks, then for the life of me I don’t understand his father actively minimizing what happened that day, as his own son was put in peril that day.

"Wrong place wrong time" - how? He's accused of organising it. He wasn't randomly wandering up the street and deciding to follow a mob!! And even then he would have been charged with trespass.
