Lori Alexander 46: She Sure Is Highly Edumacated

Lori, if a woman is having problems conceiving it could be her, it could be him, or  both of them!  Second, I know you don't think much of doctors, but that is when you consult a doctor for some tests.

Lori would be very at home in Gilead, where it's never a man's 'fault' if pregnancy doesn't happen, and only women can be infertile.

Just for the record, I don't think it's anyone's fault if a man or woman is incapable of reproduction. It's just human bodies occasionally being defective...nature carrying on business as usual, not some deity punishing 'sinful' humanity.

I saw a woman construction worker today putting branches in the wood grinder, and more branches in the wood grinder. Then she bent over and picked up another branch. She put it in the wood grinder. That’s what she’ll be doing tomorrow too maybe. As I watched, I couldn’t understand why she chose to do that instead of being home with her family, or why she chose to put on the orange work clothes instead of a cute outfit and an apron. There’s nothing wrong with being a woman, ladies! Just let it be.

*Raises hand*  I can guess!  Maybe (and this is just a thought from my silly, girl brain), she wants to feed her kids and pay her bills.  Could that be it?

I know it sounds crazy, but I am operating under the theory that the grocery won't give her food, and her mortgage company won't let her keep living in her house if she doesn't give them money. <---That's just a hunch, though.  Again, I am a woman, so I don't really understand these matters. *stupid giggle*

Maybe ContentWife can enlighten us- How does the woman in the simply hideous *shutter* orange work clothes, trade in her shabby duds for a cute outfit and an apron?  Remember, she'll still need to eat...and pay for the cute outfit.  How does she go about doing that??  Feel free to ask your headship.  K, thanks!

@Koala   I do not understand why Lori cannot get a basic principle down like "I work because we need to EAT ....  I cannot work from home because there are very few jobs that would work for me at home AND if I do work from home, then who takes care of my kids?

I mean it is such simple logic.  Why do these very basic things fail her.  Even people with money usually "get" that most of us have to work outside the home.

And then, what about when your kids are all grown up and gone?  Why do you have to stay home then?  Admittedly, it would be hard to find a job after being home for so many years, but its been done.

Lori, why not REALLY help people by getting off your a** and working in a soup kitchen.  Umm no, scratch that.  You would be saying things about the food or telling people to go get organic!  She simply does not "get it".  There are people who are working paycheck to paycheck ... got that?

And praying to God is fine, but really?  He does not intervene on some regular basis.

You all will love the image if neighborhood children she uses on her post today. I doubt she has permission for that. And don't miss the carefully positioned kid Hummer in the corner, so you don't forget Lori has money and is in a well-off neighborhood. The reason why most kids don't play outside is because its not safe and/or they live in apartments/condos. Not everyone has a backyard or a front area that is easy to play in.  AND they don't live in sunny Carlsbad, CA.

For about 30 hours a few days ago, I had three of my grandchildren stay at my home while their parents had a little bit of a break to enjoy their anniversary. I picked them up in the afternoon and had them until the next night. When they woke up in the morning, I fed them breakfast and they played contentedly in the home until “papa” woke up.

Wow, 30 hours!! Sounds like she was really counting the hours. Who says it that way?

Quote

For the first few hours, it was just my grandchildren playing with various things we have for them to play with. Around noon, a neighborhood girl came home from school and played. I always like my grandchildren to play where I can see and hear them.

Right, you like to see and hear them so you can later gossip about them on your blog.

Quote

By mid-afternoon, there were probably eleven children out in front riding bikes, scooters, skateboards, and a battery-operated car. The roads were kind of blocked off so the cars would clearly see the children. The children would all yell out “CAR!” so the children would get out of the street and the cars would creep slowly by and the people would wave to us.

Around 5:30, my neighbor across the street yelled out to me, “You get the greatest grandma award!” He had seen that I was outside all day with the children. Most of my neighbors came out for one thing or another and remarked how much they loved seeing children all playing outside together since it’s a rare site to see these days.

Oh the boasting! She watched the kids for 30 hours!! Wow, best grandma ever. We know she has never gone a few hours without deleting comments or posting something new. So while sitting outside all day she must have had laptop with her. Let's not forget that detail, Lori. Best grandma ever watching kids while on facebook.

She was outside all day so she didn't have the kids IN the house making messes, and so she had to interact with them less since there were other children outside. She probably made them eat outside too, so she didn't have to clean that up. Being outside all day also gives her the benefit of seeing all her neighbors' comings and goings without having to peek through the blinds, and the kids gave her an excuse to be watching without suspicion. She likes to see and hear her grandkids so she can make sure they are doing gender-appropriate and Lori-approved activities, and hit them if they misbehave.

This neighbor's "greatest grandma" comment (which I suspect might have been sarcastic) happened about 5:30 - had HE been home all day? I bet this was on a Saturday. Those kids coming home from "school" were probably coming home from other activities. So sad for them to have spent the day playing soccer with their friends, or taking dance classes, or experiencing things with their families! It's a good thing they all apparently had plenty of outdoor toys to play with despite never, ever playing outside unless Lori's grandkids are there to inspire them!

And I bet if they HAD been outside playing without Lori's grandkids there, she'd have been complaining about any noise they made, and peering out the windows so she could blog about how immodest their clothing and actions were.

I think Lori is right. It IS nice when children can live in a safe community, have many neighborhood kids to play with and a loving adult to watch them.

However, what she doesn't realize is that many families can't provide that, for one reason or another. And all the Bible thumping in the world won't change that.

She also doesn't realize that there are many ways to achieve the things she describes. When my daughter was little, we lived in an isolated area and there were no "neighborhood kids." So I sent her to daycare a few mornings a week. She had a wonderful time there, just as wonderful as playing in a Carlsbad cul-de-sac. Kids like other children around, that's what is important to them.

I think she also doesn't realize that if the kids don't have a safe home, all the playing-outside stuff doesn't matter. If those kids are being hit with a leather strap at home and at her house, then their childhood becomes one of fear, and having kids to play with outdoors matters a whole lot less. I'm about Lori's age and yes, all the kids played outdoors when I was young. However, I returned home to screaming and violence, and I would not describe my childhood as "wonderful" at all.

Exactly.  Those are the same set of grandchildren whose parents make them sit on a blanket and watch them eat when they're hungry / force feed them when they're not hungry.  They are also the kind of people who trust Lori w/ their kid, so there's that...

As for Lori- she hit her kids w/ a leather strap, left them hungry a good portion of the time, and proudly admits that they were afraid of her.  As Hisey said, there's not enough outside time in the world to make up for that.

And she should stop putting pictures of other people's children on her blog.

Lori's doodle today is thoughtless irony. She says she read an article that men can get as much sex and any kind they want and it leaves them feeling empty. Does she mean like ten minutes and lube?

Can someone post it? For some reason I can't add photos.

I thought of Lori today while I whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Nearly all of my ingredients came from Aldi, except for the vanilla, which is homemade  (vanilla bean + vodka + time).

I bet my cookies taste better, cuz they are made with love.

That makes me wonder what sort of kinkiness Ken asked for last night. More than 10 minutes? Flavored lube? Good thing our mentor is so Godly and discreet. Not like those sex blogs and books.

I freaking love Aldis and buy most of my stuff there. I love that they have fair trade coffee. And that's how we did our vanilla for the longest time. Now I need to do some baking but the question is what do I bake? hmm

And to reply to the working women thing. I'm looking for a job because I'm not married, don't want to move back in with my parents even if they would welcome, and I need to eat/pay bills. I don't have a slave, I mean husband, to work 80 hours for me. And besides, I thought we aren't supposed to judge the outward appearance. Why does that lady care if someone is wearing an ugly orange? I'm guessing she didn't take the time to get out of her car and talk to the woman, get to know her heart. So what does that make the OP? A judgmental, Pharisaical asshole. Jesus' words, not mine.

She is right though...

There are some bloggers out there who talk about sex all.the.time.  They aren't discreet at all.  I guess they just don't love God and His ways. *shakes head*

See, here's an example.

I am sure you will all agree with me, that a modest woman would never write something like this.

Women, we have to take care to be modest and discreet.  There's nothing in the Bible about blogging, much less blogging about being "naked".  Did you know that the woman who wrote that has men reading her blog?  She does.

It's just shameful, and like I said, I guess she just doesn't care what the Bible says.  Do you think maybe she breathed in too much feminist air? :pb_question:  :confusion-questionmarks:

I don't want to agree with Lori, but I kind of agree with Lori. I live in an area where kids can and should be out playing. There are several families that let them run free and they play in the street and mostly get out of the way for cars and are pretty polite when their ball needs to be retrieved or they want to see a dog or ask questions about bikes. But the dumb old racists on Next Door complain about it "in the interest of safety" but it's fairly obvious that the problem is some people think the brown kids are bring down our property values. Then you get the people like my neighbors who never let their kids out and the kids are weird and awkward when they get out and have no idea how to play and generally stand around in the driveway with their parents and then go inside.

I see my friends kids outside all the time, and our friends are mostly blue collar families who live in less affluent areas, their kids still go out to play. But then I listen to my boss talk about her million dollar home in an HOA and they don't really let their (white) kids out ever, despite having a yard and living on a safe, traffic controlled street. It's an interesting dichotomy.

Not too long ago she claimed 'marital rape doesn't exist. As well as always be joyfully available or he'll cheat.'

Along with the affectionate "suck (or was it sqeeze?) him dry" - and of course the infamous "10 minutes and lube."

That doesn't sound like a terribly modest description.

No wonder the Evangelical Christian divorce rate is so high....they're groomed to believe that marriage is a constant battlefield. Although, I think it boils down to bad preachers bringing bad teaching. I've NEVER heard that bullshit in any sermon on marriage over the years...but then again, we've always gone to church where folks had some serious theological education

Her granddaughter Emma is about seven. She's old enough to read Grandma's blog. Grandma needs to have a bit more shame and discretion.

wait what?  Lori has spent YEARS telling women all men need is 10 minutes and some lube.  That does not include any of the things she is talking about in this doodle.  She talks about sex (and porn) so much anyone who reads her blog need not read a "sex blog" (wtf?!?!) or book.

Michael Pearl is repulsive...but still, for someone who goes on and on about modesty and not even letting your husband see you brush your teeth, that's right crude. Hell, that's right crude in any situation. I doubt I'd even say that to my husband...

Dear lori, this is why women work.

http://money.cnn.com/2018/05/17/news/economy/us-middle-class-basics-study/index.html

"For instance, in Seattle's King County, the annual household survival budget for a family of four (including one infant and one preschooler) in 2016 was nearly $85,000. This would require an hourly wage of $42.46. But in Washington State, only 14% of jobs pay more than $40 an hour."

In other words husband and wife both work at $20 an hour to make the $40 and survive.

I wonder how long it'll be before before Lori's neighbors catch wind of her blog (if they haven't already), and she ends up answering a lot of uncomfortable questions about why their children are being shown in pictures and discussed on her blog.

When Lori's neighbor's dog barked, this is what Lori said she did:

Quote

When the dog below us yapped constantly, guess who called them all the time, left notes on their door, and wrote a letter telling them they better shut that dog up Or Else and got all the neighbors to sign it...Me!

How long before someone notices her out there taking pictures of their kids, and she's the one getting phone calls and notes left on HER door??

I would be absolutely LIVID!
