Well, Hot Springs is pretty far from Paragould--other side of the state in fact. Any reason you think he'd be there instead of Paragould or NWA?

Not particularly. Just random speculation. Nobody really knows where he is, so it seemed just as likely as anywhere else.

(And before anyone mentions it, no I am not going to the church TC goes t to just to see. Obvious reasons ba aside, the pastor makes me nervous and I literally cannot stand to be anywhere near that man)

Has anyone suggested "Where in the World is Joshie Sandiego?" for a thread title? If not, there you go.

So, summary of before the thread derailment is that the public doesn't know where Josh really is or no one - not even the Duggars - know where he is?

Suddenly I'm two pages behind but if you're at all sensitive to wool, be careful with bag balm. I'm fine with really well processed wool, but raw wool makes me itch, and so does bag balm. Apparently lanolin is my issue. Not fun to find out with the first application of nipple cream for newly nursing nipples. :mouse-shock:

I am very wool sensitive and have issues with some lotions/creams being either itchy or painful and I would never have drawn a correlation. I figured it was the fragrance or whatever, but this is great since I can avoid it in ingredients going forward.

Trying to figure out how the mouse fits into the sore nipple message! :D

I totally get this, but is it consistent with Jill's own norms? It wasn't "extended family" on the Megyn Kelly show, it was "my brother" "my parents", as far as I remember.

I'm musing aloud here, and that is a question not an argument, btw. :)

My guess is that use of the vague term 'extended family' allows her to refer to the situation without needing to specifically address the situation. So it's a way to brush the issue aside quickly without having to name names.

Glad I could help! As far as the mouse, it just seemed appropriate when divulging something I would normally say quietly so little ears didn't hear. Also, it is a shocked mouse according to the name.

Information For Families

Correspondence:

You can begin to write your loved one from the day he enters the program. Staff will screen all incoming and outgoing mail. Students must provide their own postage, envelopes and stationary. Please keep your correspondence encouraging. We look forward to working with you to see continued progress and growth. Students are not permitted to send or receive email.

Mailing Address for Student Letters:

Students Name - Teen Challenge of Arkansas - PO Box 8177 - Hot Springs Village, AR - 71910

Care Packages:

Students are allowed to receive packages from home. These packages are intended to facilitate student necessities. Packages may contain clothing, toiletries and personal items such as photos. Students are not allowed to receive food or candy in their packages. Any items sent of this nature will be shared with the entire program.

Packages must be sent through UPS or FedEx. DO NOT send packages through the US Post Office.

Mailing Address for Student Packages:

Student's Name - Teen Challenge of Arkansas - 155 Walnut Valley Road - Hot Springs, AR - 71909

Visits:

The student is permitted 2 visits from immediate family only while he is in the Induction Phase of the program. The student must be in the program a minimum of 60 days before the first visit may occur. We suggest that the second visit be scheduled shortly before he is supposed to leave for the training phase. All visits must be approved 2 weeks in advance by the student's minister.

Visits are on Saturdays from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Students in good standing will be allowed to leave the campus with their family during this time. Upon return to the campus, students and their belongings may be searched. Families are allowed to attend church with the student on Sunday, however, the student must ride with Teen Challenge. No home passes are permitted during the Induction Phase. Visitors must refrain from the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco while the student is with them. We also request that students not be allowed to use the phone while on pass.

Family Days:

There are several Family Days that do not count as a visit. These visits are on-campus only and involve Teen Challenge group activities. The students are required to participate in the group activities, so visiting time may be limited. These days include: Thankgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Faith Promise Banquets (usually in the spring of each year). You will be contactacted prior to the events.

Student Account:

Students are not allowed to have money on their while in the program. An account can be established for a student when his family makes donations to Teen Challenge. Twenty percent (20%) of your donations will be credited to his student account. These funds are administered by staff and can be used for necessities that arise. All checks and money orders are to be made out to Teen Challenge. Should the student leave Teen Challenge for any reason prior to completion, this account will be forfeited to the General Fund.

Medical Account:

This account is for funds needed for prescription medications or medical needs. When money is sent for this account 80% will be put in the account and 20% will go towards a donation to Teen Challenge to cover the cost of transportation. Example: You send in $50.00 for the medical account, $40.00 will go into this acount and $10.00 will go into the general fund. The medical account is a refundable account, which means that if a student leaves the program, this money will be refunded to the person who provided the medical account funds. After the student has been gone from the program for 30 days, these funds may be requested. We advise that this account be kept low unless there is a known medical problem.

Facility Contact Person:

Your loved one will be assigned a staff member to oversee his progress while in the program. At the time of admission your loved one will be given his minister's name. This staff member will be your contact person to check on your loved one, receive progress reports and schedule visits. Upon admission, students are required to sign release of information forms, granting us to speak with individuals. We are only able to share information with individuals listed by the student.

Time Line of Program:

As someone raised in the UK, I am finding it harder and harder to absorb the levels of craziness that are discussed here. Is this something particular to the US, or was /am I totally unaware of the insanity around me? I am not trying to be snarky here - this is all so new and weird to me!I am genuinely interested : the only outside the norm groups I have met are the JW and Mormon missionaries, and a group of brethren who lived opposite my sister - with long skirts, head covering etc. Is fundamentalism so widespread in the US that everyone has encountered it? Or is it concentrated in certain areas? Does the average man in the street have an opinion? Does he realise the danger of letting them have legislative office? Is that a possible outcome of their proselytising?

This is a huge country. The more people you have the more of any type you'll have. I also think it's easier to isolate with a more spread out population. The more isolated, the easier to go to extremes. Those are my thoughts anyway.

I agree. It helps to make it abundantly clear for potential donors: "You can give us money and we won't spend it on strippers or sex with porn stars. MY family is working for Jesus. Please give us money."

In my experience, it very much depends on both your location within the US and the circles you associate with. I was unaware of fundamentalism for the most part until I started moving around the country. Even then, when living in the bible belt and Salt Lake City, Utah, I spent most of my time surrounded by people involved with universities. During those years, I began to get an inkling of this alternate reality I had been previously unaware of. But even then, it didn't really sink in. It wasn't until I joined an online support group in 2011 that I really went :pink-shock: . It has just continued to get more :o from there.

I'm thinking of it this way: what do we know about the Duggars? What kind of place would they choose?

They're cheap, very disorganized, not very good at critical thinking, utterly scornful of real science, and completely bound up in their IFB/patriarchy lifestyle. When they got "help" for Josh previously they relied heavily on personal recommendation.

So we know he won't be anyplace that offers real therapy/counseling and we can rule out anything that would take some planning or coordination.

Big argument for RU is that it seems to be closely IF Baptist affiliated and they have a personal connection and were in Rockford. Argument against is that it's expensive and he hasn't shown up there at church.

Big argument for the Paragould place (GMTBC) is that it's cheap and they were in Paragould. No idea if they have a personal connection. Don't know about their brand of Christianity , but they have a reputation as a fundie cult--perfect! :evil-eye: No sightings reported.

Seems like a toss up. Honestly, Hot Springs seems unlikely--that's a pretty far drive for them to organize, and flying the plane around to all these other places as a double-coverup seems extremely complicated for them.

I'm a bit hazy -- isn't Smuggar a grown man and not a student? And how exactly will his infant kids benefit from him being gone for six months while Anna gets a taste of single motherhood? Shouldn't he be waiting on her hand and foot begging her not to divorce his sorry arse??????? [emoji107]

I think I might know. Look at the eyes on that mouse. That wide-eyed, panicky look -- newly nursing nipples are tender, likely sore, it hurts like heck when the baby clumsily latches on (the baby is just learning, too), and then you add an itchy allergic reaction when you were hoping for soothing relief...

ETA: Ah, I just now saw daisy's explanation.

I'm an American from Boston who has lived in the UK and worked in the South for awhile. I think it's hard for people from small countries to fully grasp just how big and diverse a country the US is. I felt far more at home in London than I did in Tennessee. Not that most of the people I met in Tennessee weren't perfectly sane! But the heavy focus on religion in particular was very strange for me.

You can't really stereotype people from any country, but the US is a collection of 50 states and nearly a dozen of those states alone are bigger than the entire UK. That's a lot of diversity.

Could someone please post a summary of the main points of the article? That link doesn't work for me. Other pages on the site work for me, but that one gives me 'ERR_CONNECTION_RESET'.

I've noticed that RU and these other "treatment" places all refer to their fully-adult clients/patients as "students." I don't know why, though.

They aren't patients in an ungodly therapy facility. They are students of the bilbe. Or some such bull shit.

Um, I read it 20 minutes ago, but these are the parts I remember.

The advice she offers Anna Duggar is basically "get out of there, and get your kids out of there, get away from him until he learns how to behave." She says that what she did with Josh was consensual, (I think she says "not rape") but he was so rough she pushed him away and told him he was being too rough.

There was an "explicit video interview" on the page but I didn't watch it.

Right now my internet is running pretty slow, so I'm not going to try to open that link again. When I opened it earlier, a video advertisement started running and nearly froze my computer.

That makes a lot of sense. Maybe a legal advantage too--avoid regulations for licensing of actual therapy and/or health care.

I watched the video. She said that after the first time she saw him a month later in a club where she was a featured dancer. He apologized for the first encounter saying he was such a fan of her movies and due to watching her in scenes he thought she wanted it like that. She said he was very apologetic and said he didn't meant to mistreat her. They had sex again that night and she said he was like a completely different person. And she didn't know he was married and never meant to ruin his life and she's a very private person. (Private perks. Thing may have been in the first vid.)

This link has more quotes from the fuller interview

etonline.com/news/171228_danica_dillon_shares_explicit_new_allegations_of_violent_sex_with_josh_duggar/

...."I had no clue who he was," Danica told ET of their alleged first encounter. "He just looks like your average, everyday fan."

Dillon alleges that Josh introduced himself as a fan of her adult film work, and claims that he "kept approaching me through the night, saying weird things like, 'Oh you are so beautiful.'"

"I believe he had had a few drinks at the club," Dillon speculates, admitting, "I wasn't really staring at him or watching him cause my friends were there with me." Dillon claims that Josh offered her $1,500 to have sex at the hotel she was staying at in Philadelphia at the end of the night, which she allegedly accepted. She also alleges that their liaison quickly turned aggressive once they returned to her hotel room.

"I tried to be sexy and seductive," Dillon said. "And then he was like, 'No, let's get straight to the point,' and [we] took our clothes off, took his clothes off, and he was very rough with me."

"He threw me on the bed and, in all honesty, though it was consensual it more or less felt like I was being raped," Dillon alleges.

Dillon alleges he forced her to perform oral sex on him.

"I never said no, I am going to have to reiterate that, I never told him no," Dillon told ET. "But I did push him back and push him off and say that's too rough that's too rough."

Dillon, who has acted in a number of hardcore pornography films, claims that the sexual encounter was "terrifying" despite her experience with shooting scenes featuring rough sex.

"I act in my movies all the time, I do really hardcore scenes but it is acting, you know? I don't really get slapped across the face, there's ways to make it look like you are getting hit," Dillon said. "Every hardcore scene I've ever done is it's monitored, there's people there to watch in case something happens, if there's an incident."

"As he finished what he was doing he just walked out of the room," Dillon claims. "He tossed his cash onto my dresser and just walked out."

According to Dillon, Josh allegedly approached her again at a different night club in Philadelphia a month later, and apologized for his previous behavior.

"He walked up to me and he said, 'I am so sorry for the things that I did to you, I am not that type of person,'" Dillon claims. "And I believed him, you know? It was a sincere apology. But to be honest with you I shouldn't have probably."

Dillon claims that she and Josh had sex in her hotel room again, but she was still worried that things might turn rough.

"I had my phone under the pillow with 9-1-1 already dialed in," Dillon claims.

Allegedly, Josh was "a completely different person the second time."

"Everything he had to do was like he had to be in control and had to be in power,†she says.

ETA: In the video she also says something about Josh needing to stick with treatment and "stop preying on women," but now I'm having trouble getting it to play. It's near the end.

Bag Balm!!! Same as the udder balm. I used it on my babies butts when they were in diapers. I have used it on my feet for years! Comes in a cute little country tin too.

Bag Balm sounds like something Joshley would use after a night of rough sex.

That certainly clears up quite a bit.

Also, I know earlier in the threads people were talking about the Duggar Plane flying around and speculating when the encounters took place. This is the first time Ive seen any mention of the time of the encounters from the involved (mid-March for the first one).

The dates have been known here for a while, it's easy to find out when she was in Philly which is where she has always said the first encounter occurred.
