So if there is abuse happening it may also be a higher risk since they're not even in contact with family right now - nobody to notice. Honestly, I thought that physical abuse was somewhat tolerated in their cult. It seems like women are responsible for every thing a man does, so if he pops her one, it's her own fault, and she shouldn't have done what she did.

That said, if physical abuse was going on, I wouldn't be shocked. Personally, he strikes me more as a verbal/emtional/mental abuse type.

In one of the articles (I think it was Radar?) I read that it actually was the first time that Josh was creepy and rough. The second time he promised to be gentler, which he was, so she went along, but she had a phone right beside the bed incase she needed to call 911. She seems to put a lot of trust in him if she was scared the first time and the second time she just took his word for it when he promised to behave.
