Since sometimes people DO end up leaving these repressive religious systems, I thought some of you might be interested in this article which interviews the executive director of the Recovery from Religion foundation. Apparently she was formerly a southern Baptist who left her Promise Keeper husband after he started to turn his violence from not only her but also against their children:

It's a good article and interesting to see how the upstart is coming along. They really need funding and a louder voice to cross a lot of lines. Glad to see that the mother was intact enough to see submission wasn't going to solve her issues and left an a??hole of a husband before he could really damage the kids. Good for her.
