I didn't get my license until I was 18--in my case, it was a $$ issue. Insurance was expensive, and it was cheaper if you were over 18, so I'm guessing that may be part of the reason some fundie daughters wait a bit to drive.

Wow, I have really lived in some sort of license bubble. Almost everyone I know got their license within about a month of their sixteenth birthday (the earliest you can drive here). I don't if that is because I live in a relatively rural area or not. I guess my experience is not universal. Shocking!
