I stopped at the ebil devil store after my workout at the Y this evening.  (Yeah I know that sounds like the beginning of a bad joke).  As I was pulling in there was a group of young people taking a selfie in front of the store.  I guess to prove how bad they are in going to Target.  The highlight of my visit there was the self checkout machines they put in over the past couple weeks.

And  just had a FB friend take this opportunity to link NAMBLA to teh gayez and TGs. Because, you know, if we allow gay rights and TG rights, the next group will be pedophiles wanting rights.

Because all three of these are the exact fucking same.

And she used as evidence the fact that things change so fast in America. Just look how far women's rights, civil rights, and same-sex marriage have come. And she completely ignored a mutual friend who pushed back on this and asked, "Are you saying our nation was *wrong* in acting on any of these previous struggles?"

She claims pedophilia will be the next "civil rights movement." Sorry--I just don't buy that slippery slope argument. That "movement" would get zero traction among anyone but the most depraved.

Oh, and her big source for this pedophilia thing? Glenn Beck. :pb_lol:

I wonder if this guy knows that the most recent creeper taking photos of a child in a bathroom was a cis man taking photos in the men's room in a church... Good for whoever yelled back at him. I would absolutely respond if this happened in my target. I've been going there more lately as a result of this.

The heart of the matter right there.  Same-sex marriage=no baybeez.

Finally got the chance to watch this... then glanced at the comments underneath. The first comment said:

History and experience in law enforcement tells me that this man's computer should be checked for kiddy porn.

THIS man, not gay people or transgender people or "godless heathens", fits the profile of a child predator. White, conservative, religious, regular church attender, self-righteous and outraged by the moral "failures" of everyone in his community.

Everyone is worried about transgender people in bathrooms while the Jerry Sandusky's of the world are diddling their kids at churches, Christian schools and church camps.

Don't believe it. Find a cop and ask him to tell you, from his/her own experience, who the typical child molester is.

I hate....wait a minute, no I don't...I love to burst these clowns bubbles by saying there was same-sex marriage in ancient times.  Through out the world too.

Apparently this man can't behave in the men's bathroom. And no mention of this pervert being transgender either.

If that took place down in this country I wouldn't be surprised to find out the perv was involved in Republican politics.  I wonder now if said perv is involved in the Canadian equivalent of the GOP?

And this transphobic jerk apparently sees no contradiction between his TUAC methods and his belief that transpeople shouldn't use the bathroom of their identified gender.

@mods: apologies if there's a thread about this jerk elsewhere. We don't know for sure that he's fundie, but if I were a betting woman. . .

These people can't even get their jokes right. This is how confused they are about trans women.

If Michelle had a penis, then "Obama's law" would allow her to use the women's room, not the other way around.

They're not just pathetic, evil losers. They're also incredibly, incredibly dumb.

@Black Aliss--That's a good point about the scope of the bill/law in North Carolina. I wish my state would add the words "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to our human rights act, but so far it hasn't even made it to a committee.

I guess I was thinking that we see bigots marching around Target, loudly proclaiming the end of the world is near because trans people are using the bathroom, but I haven't seen any videos of landlords proclaiming their right to refuse LGBT tenants, or employers proclaiming their right to deny hiring LGBT workers. I'm sure there are landlords and employers doing that, but I haven't heard of anyone bragging about it.

In states where sexual orientation and gender identity aren't considered human rights, landlords and employers don't feel threatened by the prospect of losing their bigots' rights. In states where civil rights are extended to LGBT people, few landlords or employers would be stupid enough to state that as a reason for refusal.

Now bakers and wedding photographers, that's another story. In states where LGBT people enjoy civil rights all they would have to do, and I'm sure some of them are smart enough to do this, is just say, "Sorry, we're all booked up for that date!", but noooo, they have to stand on their beliefs! So they do get the protests in support of their refusal to serve LGBT people.
