I love it when the fundies call each other out

Recommended Posts

It just kind of cracks me up.

I noticed the other day on Lori's "Immodesty is mean!!111!!!" post, that the women in comments went out of the their way to expound on how immodest strapless wedding dresses were.

http://lorialexander.blogspot.com/2012/04/showing-off-your-body.html

I am even amazed at how many brides, who know they will be the center of attention, choose to wear strapless dresses that are revealing at best. Apparently, "modest" has become a relative terminology that I have heard women use to describe dresses that I thought were anything but.

Every time I see a Christian girl pick a strapless wedding dress and the same for her bridesmaids, I am just *so* disappointed. I say strapless, since that is the most popular right now, but the same goes for low cut ones too. Does anyone know, why do Christian girls think this is okay???!!!!

And what do you know...if you scan through Lori's pics it looks like her daughter had either a strapless (or damn near strapless) wedding dress:

Now here's my question: Why did Lori raise her daughter to be soooooo "mean" to other women?

And now on to one of my favorite fundies:

So Joanne is talking about teh evil Catholics. Well who do you think shows up in comments? If you guessed a Candy fan you win the prize! Proceed to your grandmother's coffee table, collect to doily, and use it for a headcovering! Congratulations :D

From the comments:

Joanne, Candy often posts on the Catholic church w/ lots of research. However, she's not got an indexed archive to look back through. It is a false religion & its people are deceived. http://www.joyfulchristianhomemaking.com/

Hmm, there is no direct link, that's odd. You'll find it if you look on the sidebar under Counterfeit Christianity.

Joanne's response:

I checked it out real quick so I could have the page up when I was ready to look at it ... and I saw Candy there in some skimpy outfits showing off her body.

Readers beware ... I do NOT promote this kind of stuff and do not think it is pleasing to the Lord.

Yet if you go to Candy's page she has a whole post dedicated to her dresses and headcoverings:

and another on "dresses only":

It's like the fundie Olympics and they're all trying to outjesus each other. Well played fundies...well played

These people seriously need to get hobbies. They are so concerned with what other people are doing, and with sex that it is scary and weird.

She must have entered the Fundie burqua stage ... would that be a "F'urqua"? Stock up on your polyester lace for all the appliques!

Fundie infighting = highly entertaining. Thing we could convince them to do Jerry Springer?

"I do NOT support this kind of stuff."

Jesus, makes it sound like she's talking about some crazy porno instead of possible fundie ankles. I guess if you're stuck in a 15 year groundhog day of diapers and discipline you'll have to find meaning somewhere. If feeling constantly offended and "praying for" ankle-baring evil-doers and feeling all superior about your Furqa is the only acceptable option, then I guess a lot of people are going to go on and take it.

I have a question about ankles...can I just crochet some ankle cozies and wear them with a thong and pasties? I have lots of knee socks, but it is getting warm and I've been wearing flip flops, so I think that the ankle cozies will work better!

Only if you make elbow cozies to match. Especially if you up-cycle an old tee shirt and a could of doilies to make them, make a blog tutorial about it, and sell a little girl version of the same on Etsy. (Promoted with a blog giveaway of course!)

I think she was talking about Candy's recent weight loss pics - up close body shots in tank tops and very tight pants/capris (STC referred to a Candy-toe in one, which still has me laughing). Not skimpy by a lot of people's standards, but pretty scandalous for someone who promotes herself as a role model for headcovering and dresses-only.

Joanne and the women in her church wear long dresses (usually long sleeves, and like ankle length dresses, but I don't now if those lengths are a requirement or just a personal preference) and long/full headcoverings (all the head and hair, rather than a scarf/headband type that leaves more exposed), so at least she's not being hypocritical there.

Ok, I making my list right now......I can do all of that (poss multi-tasking while pleasuring my headship!)

Yes! Oh, and make sure to tell everyone that you're upcycling the tee shirts because you no longer believe that they're biblical!

(small, respect-filled voice) contrary?? I am so stealing this from you! Maybe not on FJ but certainly around my The Spousal Unit and other IRL antagonists.

All my humble thanks for the idea.

Oh I hope so. That would be so great. I picture them ripping eachothers headcoverings off. Hahaha.

That goes without saying....I have some liberal-commy shirts (organic cotton T from Target that says "My white Tshirt is green".....I think that would be liberal-commy enough for the fundies!)

I read that as either fuckyeah or a fuckyouqua. I was having to the dog head tilt to get all my brains on one side to read it right. My redneckiness is showing bad today.

Now, time to throw away the taco bell wrappers, wish I had a blueberry beer and go take a nap with my dogs before the kids come screaming Mom I want you to.., I need you to...

When we Marxists at Free Jinger take over the American Government, by our stealthy use of public-school curriculum and dispersal of birth control, we will have to make this a law. We will enact mandatory modesty cozies to go with the mandatory public thong for all patriarchy adherents. This will be the best of all possible worlds and will keep men from lusting, but will also give them ample opportunity to see the glory of God's creation, women's bodies, made all just for them.
