Uh-oh, looks like Ivanka will be crying in her organic carrot leaf squeezins:

Quote

Juicero, a Silicon Valley juicer startup that raised $120m from investors and was widely ridiculed after the $400 machines were revealed to be the equivalent of two hands squeezing a juice box, is shutting down.

The death of Juicero, announced on Friday, is the latest case of a San Francisco tech startup collapsing after raising substantial funds under the guise of innovation and disruption, but failing to build a profitable business.

Juicero offered pre-sold packets of diced fruits and vegetables that users plugged into the $400 machines, which then transformed the contents into juice. The company was roundly mocked in April when Bloomberg News reported that users could easily squeeze the packets with their hands and turn the contents into juice at a faster rate than the expensive cold-press juicer machine.

The company’s founder, Doug Evans, who compared himself to Steve Jobs, had previously bragged that the juice press wielded four tons of force, and in the face of embarrassing videos of the squeezing by hand, the company noted that the machines were connected to the internet and could ensure users don’t make juice with packets that have expired. The packets, however, had expiration dates written on them.

Juicero, launched 16 months ago, announced on its website Friday that it had decided to immediately suspend the sale of the machines and produce packs after it “became clear that creating an effective manufacturing and distribution system for a nationwide customer base requires infrastructure that we cannot achieve on our own as a standalone business”.

I read this and thought, another one of those schemes she ends up being a part of. You know she put money into this because she's not going to endorse something she isn't making money off of. And why are the machines hooked up to the internet? Not coming into my house, no way! They were probably monitoring the web sites you went to , either to target you for online advertising, or worse, to have the russians remove you from the voter rolls if you were looking at ebil liberal websites. :pb_wink:

I'm thinking it kept track of how many packets of each variety you used and ordered more as needed, but maybe this $400 juicer was really watching porn all day? :nanner-sex:

They need people to buy this juicer so that they can send out signals of their own to combat the Trump hating, Illuminati/Mason signals sent out by the evil MSM! At least they're offering a side of juice with their paranoia?

Quote

Last week, “firefighter prophet” and right-wing conspiracy theorist Mark Taylor appeared on Sheila Zilinsky’s radio program, where he warned that the Freemasons and the Illuminati are using a Satanic frequency to change people’s DNA in order to make them oppose President Trump.

“I believe what happened on November 8 is the enemy has literally sent out a frequency,” Taylor said, “and it agitated and took control, basically, of those who have their DNA that was turned over to the enemy. That’s what’s happening. The Illuminati, the Freemasons, all these people, their main goal is to change the DNA of man and they’re doing it through these frequencies.”

Taylor claimed that he is getting “bombarded with emails” from Christians who are being isolated by their friends and families because of their support for Trump and that is “because their DNA is being controlled by the enemy.”

Taylor said that the media is broadcasting its audio at 440 Hz, which has been found to “damage your body organs” and “also changes your DNA, which is the goal of the Freemasons, the Illuminati; they want you part of that Illuminati bloodline.”

I heard about this, and I have some questions!

1) Why isn't there a Liberty Freedom Family Jesus Guns Patriot brand of aluminum foil?

2) Since no aluminum foil brands endorsed by Jesus are currently for sake, how do I test to make sure that my non-patriot aluminium foil isn't impregnated with drugs to turn me away from President Trump and make me have unnatural desires?

3) If I seal up all of my demon-possessed aluminum foil in one of Brother Bakker's doom buckets, and anoint the outside of the bucket with gun oil, will that provide any protection to my family? Should I also encircle the doom bucket with salt? What is the half-life for demons? Is waiting five years before opening the doom bucket long enough?

4) Is a thousand guns per family member enough, or should I buy more?

Yes, she has: "Ivanka Trump has learned well from her father’s cons"

Spoiler

Ivanka Trump is for working women the way her father is for the working class: In both cases, the Trumps really just want their money.

President Trump’s daughter built her brand around women’s “empowerment,” by which I mean monetizing the anxieties and insecurities of stressed-out moms.

From the beginning, her stated goal was to help professional women dig deep down inside their souls and tap their inner purchasing power. She launched her jewelry line because the “concept of a self-purchasing female was lost among the traditional jewelers,” her website explains without apparent irony.

The company eventually expanded “into a solution-oriented lifestyle brand, dedicated to the mission of inspiring and empowering women to create the lives they want to lead.”

Pseudo-feminism became crucial to selling Ivanka Trump-branded books, handbags and heels. Hey, $135 leopard-print pumps can’t be frivolous if they help the sisterhood.

So what are Trump’s feminist bona fides, other than her throwaway #WomenWhoWork hashtaggery?

She publicly advocates paid family leave, even though she contracted out the designs of her clothing line to a firm that offered zero weeks of paid maternity leave.

She claims to champion equal pay for equal work. At last year’s Republican convention, for example, she spoke of the need to close the gender pay gap — perhaps in part so her fans would have the cash necessary to shop her convention look (which she immediately urged them to do, via Twitter).

And on Equal Pay Day this year, she posted on Instagram that “it is the responsibility of all Americans to come together in pursuit of equal pay.”

Last week, however, she publicly endorsed a White House decision to trample a modest equal-pay enforcement initiative.

For years, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has required large companies to report data on the race/ethnicity, gender and job category of their workers. Last fall, the Obama administration said that this annual reporting requirement should also include anonymized information on compensation, with the goal of increasing pay transparency.

With little fanfare, the Trump administration just indefinitely halted this rule, which was slated to take effect next March. And rather than the usual “anonymous source” leaks about how Ivanka Trump really, truly didn’t want such a dreadful thing to happen, she released a statement offering her blessing.

“Ultimately, while I believe the intention was good and agree that pay transparency is important, the proposed policy would not yield the intended results,” her statement said. “We look forward to continuing to work with EEOC, [the Office of Management and Budget], Congress and all relevant stakeholders on robust policies aimed at eliminating the gender wage gap.”

She offered no “robust” substitute policies. But she did offer moms a discount for massage services.

That’s right: On the same day the Trump administration quashed the EEOC rule, Trump International Hotel in Washington tweeted out a special coupon for any parents buying services at The Spa by IVANKA TRUMP™.

At best these about-faces on “women’s issues” are hollow marketing, at worst a con. The game is to say whatever needs to be said to part a mark from her money, and then move on.

It’s a trick Ivanka Trump learned well from her father.

Papa Trump, after all, ran on a platform of helping the fabled Forgotten Man through promises to plump his paycheck, revive his obsoleted jobs, discount his health care and otherwise return him to his former economic and cultural glory.

None of this is happening, of course. It was all a scheme to take the Forgotten Man’s money.

I don’t just mean through the usual chintzy merchandizing route, by selling a spot on a brass plaque in Trump Tower for a $49 donation or hawking the $40 USA hats he wore during his recent Texas photo ops.

I mean the big money: the Forgotten Man’s entitlements.

Trump is hellbent on passing a massive tax cut for the rich. Right now the tax cut looks to be unfunded. Just because it isn’t being paid for now, though, doesn’t mean it will go unpaid-for forever.

Rosy scenario notwithstanding, at some point the U.S. government will have to make good on its accumulating debts, through some combination of future tax hikes and spending cuts. Already congressional Republicans are licking their chops at the prospect of using entitlement and other social-safety-net cuts to pay for lower tax rates for the wealthy, just as they attempted multiple times in (failed) Obamacare repeal bills.

In other words, a Trump is advertising empowerment but delivering its opposite. Like father, like daughter, as they say.

About this sham jewelry line of hers: so your wealthy girlfriends are fine with buying your expensive clothes by themselves but wouldn't buy jewelry for themselves? Oh, Ivanka, that's just because they know their sugar daddy/rich old man will buy it for them. Why spend from your own wallet when that old fool will get it for you? Clever that you've convinced them to buy some pieces themselves but that just means they have twice as much jewelry. You're not empowering anybody.

And discount massages? At an expensive spa? This is like hotels that offer free happy hour on the concierge floor. Sure, you can get something for free. As long as you've paid the price to have access to the concierge floor.

Why, how applicable! I wonder if we can trick her into using it in marketing. "Ivanka shows her finest trumpery!" Of course, they change the definition of words at will, so somehow it would end up being a compliment as far as the BTs are concerned.

I don't think it would take much. Lord knows, none of them crack a dictionary on the regular. And with their patriarch's penchant for believing he's the first to discover words and concepts, he'd be all over this word that was created JUST BECAUSE HE'S PRESIDENT! Such a terrific word!

"Ivanka Trump pitches conservatives on child tax credit"

Spoiler

Ivanka Trump kicked off her own tax reform sales pitch on Wednesday morning, holding an off-the-record meeting with conservative activists such as Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist in an effort to sell them on her idea of expanding the child tax credit.

Trump, who has been working with Sen. Marco Rubio’s office to develop the policy details, indicated that she would like to see the child tax credit double from its current level of $1,000 annually to at least $2,000 — with the extra money routed to taxpayers by reducing the amount of payroll taxes they pay.

Doubling the child tax credit would boost the administration’s talking point of a tax overhaul as a populist move to aid middle class families, a selling point for President Donald Trump’s base.

The major political hiccup is that expanding any type of tax credit costs money, and the administration is already on a serious hunt for revenue to pay for lowering both the corporate and individual tax rates.

The child tax credit is also not something that tends to unite or animate the broader business community, one of the major constituents of tax changes. Businesses are far more focused on protecting its individual tax goodies and ensuring that the corporate rate goes as low as possible.

Nevertheless, Ivanka Trump’s roughly 25-minute meeting with conservatives at the Americans for Tax Reform headquarters in downtown Washington D.C. was a cordial affair, according to four attendees. Accompanying Trump was Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona, with Norquist handling the introductions.

The White House’s director of legislative affairs, Marc Short, and special assistant to the president for legislative affairs, Paul Teller, also attended.

Trump did not go deeper into the policy weeds of how much this proposal would cost overall, or if it would apply to all taxpayers or just ones below a certain income threshold. So far, the White House has not laid out a detailed tax reform proposal, preferring to leave that to the congressional leadership and the major tax-writing committees.

In April, the White House released a one-page document outlining its goals for tax reform that vaguely mentioned tax relief for families with children.

A White House spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.

Part of Trump’s messaging on the expanding child tax credit, according to meeting attendees, is that it would not benefit the D.C. “swamp” and instead, could help working families.

“There is fierce unrest at the grassroots level that the tax code does not work for people and only works for narrow special interests,” said one conservative who attended the meeting. “This could be a different way to persuade people that tax reform works for them.”

It’s also a way for the White House to build out a broader coalition for any tax reform effort that goes beyond business groups and establishment Republicans and includes social conservatives and anti-abortion groups.

Some attendees acknowledged that expanding tax credits is typically not something that conservatives champion, since they tend to believe that the marketplace — not government interventions — should solve problems.

Trump also stressed that she wanted conservatives’ help in making sure that the child tax credit does not get lost amid the thousands of moving parts of tax reform and wants it to become a centerpiece.

So far, the Big 6 negotiations on tax reform, which has included administration officials and congressional leaders, have been focused on lowering the corporate rate and finding ways to offset such a reduction.

Among the 25 conservative individuals and groups in attendance on Wednesday was former Sen. Rick Santorum, Ralph Reed of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, and representatives from Americans for Prosperity, National Taxpayers Union, American Enterprise Institute, Focus on the Family, March for Life, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

I'm sure she'll finagle it so it only benefits families who make more than $500K a year or some such nonsense.

Seriously... "Trump says Ivanka asked to tag along on tax reform trip — ‘Daddy, can I go with you?'"

Spoiler

President Donald Trump has placed Ivanka Trump in one of the most powerful positions in Washington, giving her a plum West Wing office, allowing her to sit in for him at a G-20 gathering of global leaders, and relying on her to smooth Oval Office meetings.

But on Wednesday he made clear that her role as daughter comes first.

The president invited Ivanka Trump on stage during a speech on tax reform in North Dakota, where he noted in personal terms that the first daughter and White House adviser asked if she could travel with him.

“By the way, Ivanka Trump,” the president said in his remarks. “Everybody loves Ivanka.”

The crowd applauded as she made her way up toward the president.

“Sometimes they’ll say, ‘You know, he can’t be that bad a guy’ — look at Ivanka,” Trump quipped. “No, come on up, honey. She’s so good. She wanted to make the trip.”

“She said, ‘Dad, can I go with you?’ She actually said, ‘Daddy, can I go with you?’” Trump said, correcting himself. “I like that, right? ‘Daddy, can I go with you?’ I said, ‘Yes, you can.’ ‘Where are you going?’ ‘North Dakota.’”

Ivanka Trump traveled aboard Air Force One from Washington to Bismarck with the president, chief of staff John Kelly, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp, and Rep. Kevin Cramer.

While the president has often relied on his daughter to soften his image both on the campaign trail and in the Oval Office, he has also given her a substantial portfolio. Earlier Wednesday, she pitched conservative activists on her plan to increase the child tax credit, a policy she has worked with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s office to develop.

But Democrats who hoped Ivanka Trump would moderate her father's policy impulses in the White House have been disappointed, as Trump has pulled out of the Paris climate agreement and announced a ban on transgender people serving in the military.

In North Dakota, the president encouraged his daughter to address the crowd. She said “hi” to the state “we love” and called it “a pleasure to be back here.”

“You treated us very, very well in November and have continued to,” she said. “We like sharing the love back.”

The president said “thank you, honey; thank you, baby,” and pulled his daughter toward him for a kiss on the cheek before she exited the stage.

“And she means it,” he said. “Believe me.”

I need to go get an airsick bag.

I was just watching Brian Williams on MSNBC. He was saying that during the meeting that the TT had with Repug and Dem congressional leaders, things were getting heated, and Ivanka "dropped in", which caused more disruption. Apparently the congress members were not thrilled to see Ivanka. Maybe she should stop breezing in during important meetings. I thought John Kelly was trying to put a lid on crap like that.

What the ever-lovin' fuck? That is inappropriate, disgusting and disruptive. As @apple1said he makes her sound like she's a four-year-old. How does she expect anyone to respect her opinion when she refuses to follow protocol or respect procedure, and allows her daddy to treat her like a child? She stands there beaming while he talks about her as if he's a pedophile and she's his obsession. Then she's upset about how people see her. Honey, even your step-mother had more self-esteem than that when she was nabbing your daddy.

The more I see, the more I think Melania is the smartest of this bunch.  Yeah, I know she choose to marry him and all that but I really think she's keeping as much distance from her husband's and her stepchildren's antics as much as she can.   And I think she's very protective of Barron.  She can't change how her stepchildren were raised and how their relationship to their Dad plays out but she can protect her own kid and I think she's doing that.

Kushner's bank account is deeply, deeply, and very redly in debt. Remember, so far he has only managed to pay 50 million towards that 666 apartment building in NY that cost 1.8 billion in total. That's why he was courting the Russian oligarchs after all. As her dad isn't exactly a whizz with money either (how many bankrupties was it again?), I hope she has full control of her own money a, if only because she's a grown ass woman and should not be beholden to her daddy or hubby, or any man for that matter.

I just don't get this whole being in dept thing and living the way they do. Rufus all mighty, Daddy's little snowflake and Kushner live in Kalorama!

I've never been seriously in dept, but I've come close. Bill collectors calling, threatening letters. I sure as hell wan't spending a years salary on one fucking dress.  I've known people who had to pretty much sell all they had and live on the mercy of friends on the sombody elses couch. So many are just one or two missed paychecks, or huge doctor bill away from real bankruptcy.

So I don't get how Trump and his nasty spawn (Barron not included), can get away with it.
