It stinks all around, and not only from the judge.

I'm not convinced that there is any reliable treatment for sex offenders who target children. I'm certainly not convinced that probation conditions and checking in with a probation officer can in any way, shape or form protect the public. The case was not publicized until recently. He has a large house and lots of resources, so it's not like he's living in an apartment where neighbors would see exactly who comes and goes. He's an active threat.

I agree. The known rate of recidivism is just that--the KNOWN rate. How many are reoffending without getting caught? Scary thought especially when you start considering how many ids these freaks molest and rape over periods of years before getting caught at all.

That poor little girl! I really hope she is getting some therapy at least. If I were her mother (or caretaker or whoever is her guardian), I'd get her as far away from Delaware as I could, get her some good therapy and help her live a better life.

I don't wish the judge harm but she deserves the verbal backlash. She probably won't loose her seat though. I hope if he gets arrested for molesting the son, he gets another judge.

Also, media should have withheld her name even if it was known.

That makes you a better person than me. I think she deserves whatever the fuck she gets. She just endangered kids, lots of kids, and said to a toddler rape victim that she doesn't matter.

1) There is now death threats against the judge

2) There is now a petition to remove judge from her seat - justice system is backing her up

2) Not only did he rape his daughter but allegations are that he also molested his son

I think death threats against the judge are excessive. It's not really accurate that they didn't investigate allegations about his son. I read the linked articles and it was more that they didn't have any evidence to do anything about it. He apparently said under a polygraph that he had somehow abused his son ( presumably sexually, but that wasn't clearly worded either ) but the polygraph question was worded very vaguely and the son was too young when the abuse happened to remember it or make any sort of statement regarding it years later. Because of the public pressure they are now re-investigating.

Kind of agree with #2.

It is interesting to me that the judge in this case and in the "affluenza" case in Texas were both women. I would think in both cases women would be tougher and less likely to be influenced by money.

If you kill him - or just want to kill him - you're not better than him. You're worse. He rapes his daughter because he doesn't see her as a human being, you want to kill him because you don't see him as a human being. It's the same.

He deserves the sufferings of the prison until the end of his life. Periods. And justice must act like a human with reason.

2) I expect when we'll be told that he has filmed his children for child pornography films. It is all the time the same. In foster care, when someone said "I'm here because my father raped me and my sister," it meant "He filmed us for his friends."

3) This can be something very difficult if the rest of the family put pressure on the child to not say anything.

One of my friend is working with an organization that helps people with pedophile attraction. With the permission of the man or woman, they take control of the computer pedophile, they regularly go home search to verify that there is nothing in relation to children, are working with the police to check it does not go to places with children, and provide psychological help (the goal being to eradicate pedophiles thoughts - what is sometimes possible because often it is men and women who have been raped as a child and who are afraid of becoming a pedophile.) They do an admirable job and that really helps. But the people they received have a minimum of consciousness (that are never people who have already raped- of course. Most of the time, they have never seen a movie and have attempted suicide because they know that they feel is not acceptable.)
