It's been said that movies with black themes don't do well in the international market, which appears to be why this Italian movie poster focuses on Brad Pitt, rather than Chiwetel Ejiofo, who plays the central character:

Intellectually, I know I shouldn't be surprised, but it's still disheartening that a black actor has been relegated to be relegated to a side character in his own movie to make it more marketable. :(

It certainly is disheartening. Not to mention that Brad Pitt's scenes were the ones that clearly needed to be on the cutting-room floor.
