We have two pekingese. One is very very protective/possessive of me, when I am in my bed and b marks and growls at my kids. It is especially bad with my 16 yr old. They aren't fixed btw . (We inherited them. We do not breed them )

Get them fixed. It may not solve the issue totally but it might help. There are plenty of options if you can't afford it. Pm me if you would like some resources. :)
