THis is what I replied to her

"So your snap decision to marry him worked out in that you got a husband that won't let you react to your usually wrong snap decision.

Oddly, I had a list similar to yours, and my husband does love art music poetry and understands why novels are important to read. He also builds things, works in a physically demanding job, and is very protective in virtually the same way your husband is. (He doesn't bring me flowers - he grows them for me.) He says that he does the secular cooking and I do the sacred (I do most of the cooking.) Plus! He never negs me! Because...he loves me..."

Why is novel reading and art considered unmanly and a waste of time? I find men who are at least open to cultural experiences to be very attractive. It wouldn't even occur to me to think some guy as effeminate or more "beta" just because he liked going to art museums or music performances.

I wonder what she'd think of my niece. She's a physicist with a Pardee-Rand PhD in public policy (so she's smart), and her live in boyfriend is a carpenter, artist, and metalsmith. They are so good together. They compliment each other. And this is her first boyfriend at age 35. Nothing was going to get in the way of her education.

If she watches Jane Austen adaptations on DVD, here's a tip for her. Austen and her family were novel readers and were proud of the fact (in a time where novels were regarded as we regard trash TV).

Seriously, how is it more manly not to read fiction? Some of the greatest writers of all time were men. Gonnae tell me Dostoyevsky was "a mewling beta"?

I dont know if anyone has looked at the Baggage reclaim site. I dont entirely agree with everything (probably because I dont really come from a dating culture) and obviously shes got a book to sell but shes got some good points about these 'alpha' arses and manipulaion of relationships

In one of her posts she describes (living with a manipulative and inconsiderate, EA man as

'You end up living off crumbs. You have to make a big deal out of the little things and one woman’s crumb becomes your overblown loaf.'

This rings so true for so many of these submissive 'perfect wife' my mans an alpha type eg This judgy bitch or that biddy who covers everything in pink glitter - they describe their man acting like a entitled judgemental arse and put sugar on it, frantically flailing away isnt my life wonderful, isnt my life wonderful.

I feel rather sorry for the judgy bitch - she could have got an interesting degree and opportunities, instead she picked up an arsehole. Shame really

Perhaps we're better off Judgy Bitch never used her MBA to snare anything other than a walking wallet, oops, I mean husband. I'm sure if the likes of Judgy Bitch was in the work place we'd have more Enrons, more WorldComs, more Lehman Brothers, more AIGs, more Bernie Sanders....

Well, you get the point.

I think you mean Bernie Madoff. Bernie Sander is a liberal congressman from Vermont.

Bernie Sanders is my elderly man crush. The only socialist elected to the US congress.
