Loved this movie about all of the behind the scenes machinations to get the 13th amendment outlawing slavery passed. It's so well-written, the characters are brilliant and articulate and flawed and complicated.

Was it long? My husband wants to go see it but I have a short attention span.

It was long but did not seem so, it held me and ds in thrall, I felt as it were real and I was there, we especially liked Tommy Lee Jones and that last scene, all of the acting was first rate, Expect to see some noms. Fantastic movie.

Tommy Lee Jones was amazing, and the last scene blew me away. I hope he gets nominated for best supporting actor.

Yes, it is long. I could have watched it for so much longer. My daughter, however really thought it was too long.

We (hubby and I) loved this movie. It could have gone on for hours as we were hanging on every word.
