"White House tradition calls for portraits of the most recent American presidents to be given the most prominent placement, in the entrance of the executive mansion, visible to guests during official events."

He moved them to a little seen or used room.

Hopefully in about six months his will be here...

And the Clinton ones will be put back where they were before.

And any picture of the Fuckmuppet anywhere on Federal property of any type should be replaced with this...

Good grief, the whining, whining, whining! Even when Wallace attempts to get him to say something positive, he goes onto a rambling rant and whines even more.

What a whiney ass bitch.

This part of the interview is absolutely bonkers. Wallace calls him out on the difficulty of the cognitive test Trump was boasting about, and Trump has no real comeback.

I have a feeling Trump missed the last five questions and that is why he keeps saying they are so hard and no one can get them right. I do not think Trump can count backwards by 7. I'm not sure he can count backwards by ones.

I doubt he could count forwards by seven. He'd likely be stumped after 14.

This is a prime example of his complete lack of empathy. Only a sociopath would describe war as beautiful.

Things may well get worse but I suspect some rats will decide to abandon the sinking ship, and that there are Republicans with power who have already decided enough is enough and will try to save their Party (over Trump).  I hope this isn't just wishful thinking.

President and Mrs. Obama will finally have their official portraits unveiled and hung in the White House.

Article from back in May:

Trump is refusing to unveil Obama's portrait at the White House, breaking a 40-year tradition

Quote

President Donald Trump will not hold a ceremony at the White House for the unveiling of former President Barack Obama's portrait, NBC News reported.

This marks a break from a 40-year tradition honored by presidents from both parties.

Trump and Obama have had an extraordinarily contentious relationship, which hit a new low in recent days as Trump made unfounded accusations that his predecessor committed an unspecified crime.

President Donald Trump won't be unveiling former President Barack Obama's portrait at the White House, breaking a 40-year tradition, NBC News reported on Tuesday.

Obama would also not be interested in attending such an event, according to the report, which cited people familiar with the matter.

The White House and a representative for Obama did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Insider.

For decades, first-term presidents have held ceremonies in the East Room to unveil the portraits of their immediate predecessors. Obama did so for former President George W. Bush in 2012, for example.

"George, you went out of your way to make sure that the transition to a new administration was as seamless as possible," Obama said at the time.

Trump and Obama have perhaps the most contentious relationship of any current and former presidents in modern US history. In recent days, Trump has made baseless allegations that Obama committed an unspecified crime. Before his transition from reality TV to politics, Trump spent years perpetuating a racist conspiracy theory regarding Obama's place of birth.

Despite their rocky past, Obama wrote Trump an Inauguration Day letter in 2017 and left it in the desk drawer in the Oval Office; Trump said it was "beautiful."

But that detente did not last long. Trump has frequently blamed Obama for various issues he's faced as president, including for issues with COVID-19 testing.

Obama has generally avoided the limelight since leaving the White House. In the rare instances he's criticized Trump, the former president has often done so without saying his successor's name. Over the weekend, Obama appeared to excoriate Trump's response to the coronavirus pandemic but did not explicitly mention him.

"More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they're doing," Obama said during a virtual commencement address for 2020 graduates of historically black colleges and universities. "A lot of them aren't even pretending to be in charge."

Though Obama did not mention Trump, the former president's comments were widely interpreted as a direct jab at his successor.

Even if both Trump and Obama were willing to participate in a portrait-unveiling ceremony, it's possible the coronavirus pandemic could place limitations on it. Family members, staff members, and friends of former presidents tend to attend these events.

The first formal portrait unveiling took place in 1978, when President Jimmy Carter invited his predecessor, President Gerald Ford, back to the White House for a ceremony in the East Room, per NBC.

Similar ceremonies had occurred in the years before, such as when former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy returned to the White House in 1971 for the unveiling of the portraits of her and her husband, President John F. Kennedy.

"Trump declines to say whether he will accept November election results"

Spoiler

President Trump declined to say whether he will accept the results of the November election, claiming without evidence that mail-in voting due to the coronavirus pandemic could “rig” the outcome.

In a wide-ranging interview with “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace, the president also continued to play down the severity of the coronavirus crisis in the country, declined to say whether he is offended by the Confederate flag and dismissed polls showing him trailing former vice president Joe Biden by a significant margin.

The interview comes as the 2020 campaign has been upended by the pandemic, which has claimed more than 137,000 lives in the United States. Most in-person events have been canceled, and both political parties are planning to hold smaller-scale conventions to limit the spread of the virus.

Several states switched to primarily vote-by-mail primaries earlier this year, and the U.S. Postal Service is bracing for an onslaught of mail-in ballots this fall as states and cities seek alternatives to in-person voting.

In the “Fox News Sunday” interview, Wallace asked Trump whether he considers himself a “gracious” loser.

Trump replied that he doesn’t like to lose, then added: “It depends. I think mail-in voting is going to rig the election. I really do.” Trump’s comment echoed unfounded claims he has made in recent weeks that mail-in voting is susceptible to widespread fraud.

“Are you suggesting that you might not accept the results of the election?” Wallace asked.

Trump responded, “No. I have to see.”

Later in the interview, pressed on whether he will accept the results of the November election, Trump again declined to say.

“I have to see,” he said. “Look, you — I have to see. No, I’m not going to just say ‘yes.’ I’m not going to say ‘no.’ And I didn’t last time, either.”

During the final presidential debate of the 2016 campaign — which was moderated by Wallace — Trump similarly suggested that he might consider the November election results illegitimate because the process is rigged.

“I will keep you in suspense,” Trump said at the time. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton described Trump’s answer as “horrifying,” saying he was “talking down our democracy.”

Elections officials are anticipating a high turnout in November, along with a dramatic increase in voters who choose to mail their ballots instead of risking exposure to the coronavirus at polling places.

Biden’s campaign responded to Trump’s remarks in a statement Sunday morning.

“The American people will decide this election,” Biden spokesman Andrew Bates said. “And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.”

On “Fox News Sunday,” Trump played down the recent spike in U.S. coronavirus cases, arguing that “many of those cases shouldn’t even be cases.”

“Many of those cases are young people that would heal in a day,” he claimed. “They have the sniffles and we put it down as a test.”

More than 20 states are reporting seven-day averages in coronavirus-related deaths higher than at the end of June, underscoring the turnaround since May and June, when deaths declined nationally.

Wallace pressed Trump on the issue, noting that there are currently about 6,000 cases in the entire European Union. “Is it possible that they don’t have the virus as badly as we do?” he asked.

“It’s possible that they don’t test, that’s what’s possible,” Trump replied. “We find cases, and many of those cases heal automatically.”

The president also defended his oft-made prediction that the virus will “disappear” one day.

“I’ll be right eventually,” he said. “I will be right eventually. You know I said, ‘It’s going to disappear.’ I’ll say it again. … It’s going to disappear, and I’ll be right.”

On the issue of the Confederate flag, a symbol that for many represents the country’s racist past and history of slavery, the president declined to offer his own feelings.

“It depends on who you’re talking about, when you’re talking about. … When people proudly have their Confederate flags, they’re not talking about racism,” he said when asked whether the flag is offensive. “They love their flag. It represents the South.”

Amid a nationwide debate over Confederate monuments and symbols, Trump has previously said he views the flag a matter of freedom of speech. He went further in the “Fox News Sunday” interview, appearing to equate the flying of the Confederate flag to the Black Lives Matter movement against systemic racism and police brutality.

“So you’re not offended by it?” Wallace asked Trump of the flag.

“Well, I’m not offended, either, by Black Lives Matter,” Trump said. “That’s freedom of speech.”

Amid a raft of polls showing him trailing Biden, Trump has remained defiant, and in the interview with Wallace, he again dismissed the survey results.

“I’m not losing, because those are fake polls,” he said.

I think Flossie ‘s scenario is realistic. I don‘t believe 45 doesn’t know what he’s doing by not responding to the pandemic. As cynical as it sounds I think it’s calculated. Possible explanations:
- Who can hold an election in a raging pandemic? It’s the perfect reason to cancel election day.
- People will start to protest and the country will dive into more chaos. What a good reason to install 45‘s own version of law and order!
- Minorities are more likely to get and die from Covid-19. Those are all democratic voters

- We still had an election in 1918... and it's up to states to cancel elections. And if they did cancel, Trump's term will still expire at noon on January 20th 2021. So his best bet is to cheat.
- Based on exit polling, Trump's initial supporters, at least, were (white) men 45+. I imagine some have become disenchanted, some affected by COVID-19, and some still die-hard Trumpists... but I don't think there's enough to cause a lot of chaos. My mom is a die-hard BT, but she's too worried about the 'deep state' to participate in anything RL. I think there will be a lot of keyboard warrior'ing and conspiracy theorying, tho.*
- Old folk are more likely to die from it too, and those are Republican voters. I think that might even out - and hopefully his lack of response to the pandemic will inspire even more people to vote against him.

* If cheating doesn't work, I imagine some day prior to January 20 will find Trump on a plane to a country that has no extradition treaty with the US. I have no doubt it will be spun as 'escaping from the deep state', but there's no way he's going to stay and face trial(s).
Of course, with the people he surrounds himself with, it's hard to tell... they could be inspired to try a coup, depending on if they have military / SS support. But it would be a lot easier to accept the end of his 'reign' and go find cushy lobbyist jobs/go on the Fox News/OAN/whatever circuit.

If he loses I think there is a chance he will quickly sell as much American intelligence information to our enemies as he can and then quit. Trump is big on cutting his losses and running. But he will blame America for not voting for him and he will attempt to inflict as much damage to our country as possible. I'm not sure he will escape the country because he has gotten away with doing bad things for so long that he seems to think he is invincible.
