I thought it was funny that there are 666 people subscribed to Titus 2s blog. I wonder how Stevehova will feel about that?

What’s a who-Who??? Terifying or Pharisteve just mentioned “who-Who” in a reply to a fan. Is that like “hoo-ha”?  Hoo boy, you just never know what to expect from those FUN-loving Maxwells!!!!!

who/Who as a reference to regular humans vs The Almighty.

I am trying to understand their anti-entertainment BS. They play board games, the kids play outside, they regularly go hiking, Have a lot of family parties and Mary seems to enjoy doing artwork. They do things that many people would see as entertainment but try and dress them up as Godly endeavors that are only performed to bring them closer to the Lord. For people who against fun, they seem to have a lot of it but can’t admit it.

They take week(s)-long trips to Colorado where they hike and canoe, but not with any plan we hear of, of witnessing to those they might encounter on the 14-ers nor the sky blue waters. They travel more than a few miles to KC to hear people of undetermined spiritual orientation perform “The Messiah.”  They scavenged a frickin’ PLAYground set and built it in the fathership’s back yard!

I myself witnessed RevAnna and Mary PLAY with toddler Abby!

Fibbers.

I think anti-entertainment really means beast (tv) and other popular culture pursuits like movies and popular music.

Ok, which one of us was ‘Erica’ ? Or did Stevie make Erica’s comment up as we were talking about this recently and we know he reads here.

But how do his reversals define fun? I like a good walk in the countryside or along the coast, but I would not find it fun getting up at 04:00 (maybe earlier as they don’t change time zones) and driving for two hours to walk up a mountain in Colorado.

I notice they all wear a lot of really warm clothing in the house, I think they might be too cheap to turn up the thermostat.

God damn they’re boring.

I guess I'm kinda Maxhellish, since I prefer to put on a hoodie versus turning up the heater. It just feels more comfy to me, and it also saves money which I can spend on cooling the house in summer, since there's only so much you can take off!

I can see both sides of the thermostat issue.  In the end, Do what works for you.  I grew up in a drafty farmhouse that was heated by one wood stove, so we were always too cold in the winter.  As an adult, I budget for higher utilities in winter by skipping other luxuries like dining out; I give higher priority to not being uncomfortable if I don’t need to be.  We still wear sweaters and have an excess of afghans, and have season-appropriate bedding; the temp gets turned down to about 66 at night, but we’re supposed to be in the single digits for much of the next several days so we will turn up the heat while we’re awake.

Steve = Erica. The writing style gives it away.

And apologies if one of us is Erica, although I will say, if I ever sent a comment to Maxhell Blog, I’d change my style, just on principle, to sound more like their fans.

Hi Steve! :waives and smiles: I'm K the liberal pro choice feminist whose house is right next to Leadville and you drive by to go hike your 14ers every summer! I go to coffee shops in town so better watch out, I'll convince Sarah Mary and Anna to volunteer with Planned Parenthood or invite Jesse out to the local brewery or better yet marijuana dispensaries with my heathen friends aka the locals. You should probably stay away from Colorado... just in case.

If it was someone I knew and actually liked, I'd be trying desperately to get them just one more subscriber just to avoid that, lol. Poor Steve.....

IIt’s a great example of how single fundie girls are waiting around to get married (although many deny it). Their lives really don’t start until they are married. So they sit around and blog and dream about their future. How pathetic. What if Mr Perfect doesn’t ever come along (Sarah Maxwell)? When will your life really start? Will you feel as though you’ve wasted your time on earth waiting around?

Sarah--she must wonder why God denies her a husband.

I was struck, watching a documentary on youtube of Love and Marriage among ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel how much Gothardites (and Maxwells) have copied from them. The quick engagements, the no touching, etc. One girl says "its what we're made for"  etc etc. Sarah, esp., must be deeply troubled at being found wanting in the marriage market. I've often said that like India Wilkes in GWTW she could catch an older widowed man with grown/nearly grown children, but unlike India, the sentence doesn't end "if she tried." It would be "if Steve would relent."

I know she is filled with "God calls some to the single life and this season etc," but deep down she must really hurt not having a husband and children so that she can be seen as an adult. In a community that marries young and starts families immediately, it won't be long until the first of her age-mates become, yes, GRANDMOTHERS [18 or so when child is born, 36--40 when first grandchild is born].

Tomorrow is Poor Sarah's bday.  Little known facts about Sarah: she loves lattes, loves the Lord Jesus, and is a writer.  And she knows where she is going when she dies!  Seriously though, as much as she irritates me by telling me how to vote I do feel sorry for her.  37 years and no life of her own.

This is going to be a hard year for Sarah, I think. She'll officially enter her late 30s, both of her older brothers will be in their 40s, and the first of the reversals turns 30. Her chances for marriage, at least in her community, are pretty slim. I feel for her, too. Her parents screwed her over.

It was six years ago around her birthday when I started following the Maxwells.  It was the post right after her birthday about how she lacks gratefulness.  I would be unhappy too if I had to spend my 31st birthday going to a animal safari with my family.

I've been following them for almost a decade now (weird!!!). Sarah has definitely changed over the years. There was more confidence to her. She doesn't have that anymore.

None of us know what she wants from her life.

We know what she says which is per Steve’s brand, but none of us have any idea if she truly wants to be married.

i mean in a real way, not some idealized “it would be nice to be married” but all the change and things that go along with it may not be worth it to her.

we don’t know if she has issues exacerbated by isolation, she may prefer to be home.  Or may not ...my point is there is no way to know from what they put out there which is the gospel of Steve.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

It’s not supposed to be mosquito season right now but I still appear to have been bitten twice on the side of my foot. Bastards. I know I shouldn’t scratch but it’s so tempting… 😑
