Politically he seems to have focused on different things than Ammon Bundy & co but I see a similar instability.  Very anti-government, despite trying to run for office. He apparently had trouble paying his bills and got a lot of people to go along with his i'm a victim-no rules concern me- all cops are bad mentality.

A man who spent years fighting the foreclosure of his Colorado home and ranted online about police and corporate corruption shot three law enforcement officers trying to serve an eviction notice Wednesday, killing one and wounding the others, authorities said.

The officer killed at the scene has been identified as Corporal Nate Carrigan, a 13-year veteran of the Park County Sheriff's Office.

The officers fired back in this forested mountain community, killing the gunman, who was identified by police as 58-year-old Martin Wirth and has been pictured lying dead in the snow outside his house.

Eight officers went to the snow-covered two-story home in a hillside neighborhood north of the town of Bailey to serve what authorities described as a 'high-risk' eviction notice. The well-maintained houses sit on big lots, with room for horses to graze in an area popular with hunters and anglers.

Wirth appeared on the deck of his home when the officers arrived, then went back inside, according to the sheriff's office account of the shooting.

Officers followed him in, and Wirth fired on them, prompting them to return fire, sheriff's officials said.

The shooting killed Carrigan. One of the wounded officers underwent surgery for life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition at a Denver hospital.

He already killed someone before and was arrested for DUI a couple of times and an AA worker got a restraining order against him but he was loud enough in the Occupy Denver movement that there are plenty of people on their FB taking his side and saying it's totally justified to murder cops if they do their jobs and evict you.

Cops draw guns on former Senate candidate for attempting to purchase car insurance

From Bailey, Colorado.

The USA is laughably worse than most of the dictatorships it decries.

He says the police drew guns on him for "attempting to buy car insurance" but apparently he led them for a chase so I think it's far more likely that's what the guns were for. Also because it was known that he's a violent whackjob.

No one seems to know what he did for a living although he claims to be a space engineer.

Wirth ran unsuccessfully on the Green Party ticket against state Sen. Kevin Grantham, a Republican from Cañon City, in 2014.

Wirth received 13,019 votes to Grantham's 38,895 in the district that takes in parts of five counties, according to the Colorado Secretary of State's archives.

Andrea Merida, co-chair of the Green Party of Colorado, said she had known Wirth for years and did not find him to be unstable.

"What I can tell you is he is absolutely a victim of the foreclosure crisis in America," she said in an interview.

In a joint statement, Merida and state Green Party co-chair Bill Bartlett called Wirth a " friend to the oppressed who always supported the least among us."

"We are shocked and saddened at the economic violence that has taken the life of our brother and another community member, who just happened to be wearing a uniform at the time," they stated.

"We grieve with the families of the victims on all sides of this incident and redouble our efforts to work toward a world where everyone has according to their need. Shelter is a human right."

TLDR: Martin Wirth who killed someone over losing a chess game, threatened someone else, drove drunk,  ran for senate in Colorado 2014, sued lots of defendants for his eviction (even the governor) and ranted on FB and Occupy Denver demonstrations against the police, shot three deputies. One died, one is in critical condition. He was killed at the scene. Good riddance, JMO, but some are saying he was a sweet man who will be dearly missed and they never knew him to be unstable and he was the victim here. I just don't understand people sometimes...
