Fundie Fundraising

Surfing the various fundie websites, blogs and forums a reoccuring theme pops up.

I've noticed that many of these folks are not keen on getting jobs in the outside world, having to wake up and go to work for someone else, and having a boss.

But yet they are very keen on having lots of kids.

So how do they support all these kids?

It appears that many of them create demands in which they will be the suppliers.

They create a demand for "homeschool curriculums" and then they create those curriculums so they can sell them to you.

They create a demand for books for and about fundie girls and young women, then they write those books and sell them to you.

They create a demand for seminars about everything from babies to young earth theories to god knows what, then they create those seminars and sell them to you.

They create a demand for Christian themed documentaries, and then they create those documentaries and sell them to you, like this "Egypt Series" that the Botkins put together. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?

Basically they are always in the position of always creating a new demand in the minds of consumers in order just to feed their families.

creating demand = rule No. 1 of the capitalist system.

And works like a charm. Who'd have ever thought 50 years ago that you *needed* anti-bacterial handwash to keep your kids safe? Or airbags in cars? etc... We don't need most of the things we think we do; homeschool ciric. or otherwise.

they're an enterprising lot, aren't they? (even if some of the products are highly iffy)
