Figured this was relevant to how much we bring up the fundies ignoring some of Jesus' key actions/philosophies such as providing healthcare and preaching that you should care about your neighbor :roll:

If Jesus was running for president they'd question where he was born, be racist against him because of how non-white he would be, call him a socialist communist marxist thinking those all mean the same thing and question whether or not he was a true Christian. Jesus would be socially liberal and pretty much a fundies worst nightmare. Funny how they forget all about the guy who's supposed to be the point of their religion.

I really needed a third choice for some of those. And maybe an essay section for explation. :/ To me Jesus isn't "red state"/"blue state". I don't believe his motive was political then, and I think that his teachings to me as a person and to the church don't always translate well into politics and nation-running in a secular state. And yes, too many of my fundie-fellows mistakenly have tried to turn a secular state into "God's kingdom."

I am a "leaning toward Blue state" Jesus believer. Mel Gibson's Passion of Christ was probably the most vile movie I have ever seen, and that is saying something.
