Saw this on Jezebel today. I'd heard of RP but I had thought it was more about angry boyfriends posting photos. It appears I am wrong...it looks like many of the cases are of women's heads being photo shopped onto bodies of nude women.

While I think what Hunter Moore and his ilk did was horrible (violating privacy, slut shaming) I can't help but to wonder...and forgive me if I'm not quite articulating this correctly...why SHOULD women fear losing their job, respect, even custody of their children for having hacked photos of themselves up online? I wonder how many of these women did lose their jobs? Isn't that a form of victim blaming too?

I read the article too. Its terrifying. I think on most cases employers want the harassment to stop so its easier to fire the woman than stand up to online trolls calling constantly.

These women should fear such photos, altered or not. Many jobs have "morality clauses" or digital Media agreements that must be signed. Teachers lose their jobs over such things regularly. "I don't want a whore teaching my speyshul sneauxflaykes!" While the human body is a beautiful marvel women who expose theirs are automatically branded as sluts. "Fine, upstanding folks" won't hire a slut and can abuse her verbally sometimes physically. Even a hint of scandal like this brands a woman.
