I just got back from my weekly volunteer gig at a local center for homeless teens. To say there are not a lot of poor people now is ridiculous. You know what they don't have? Adequate food, clothing, shelter, cars, and they are lucky if they have a damn blanket to curl up with at night. Fuck you, Megan.

I am not poor by global standards, but I cannot use my heat very often in the winter, I get food handouts, and I would not go to a doctor unless I was dying because I know the medical collections agencies would hunt me down to the ends of the earth and further destroy my credit record. I do have a vehicle, but that is the only way to get to work and school considering that I do not live in Galilean village where all resources are within a square kilometer.
