He thought the boy was gay so he killed him. He killed the woman because she couldn't have kids and was looking to get out of his cult.

The sad thing is the mom escaped and call the authorities after he killed the boy, but neighbors ignored them dragging her back because they thought it was a group home for the mentally ill.

The leader/murdered also has a record for sexually abusing a 12 year old girl when he was 20, which makes it even more disturbing to me, because it seems like he recruited all women with young children.

I live in NC and I hadn't heard this. Of course, I make it a point not to watch the news. It's horrifying, but just as horrifying is the neighbors that watched the woman being dragged but thought that was ok because she was mentally ill. As if it's just fine to drag mentally ill people around. I hope the surviving women and children are getting the help they'll need.

And I just have to comment on the awful writing in this "channel6newsonline" article. The first two sentences alone are terrible. If that's what paid journalists are allowed to put out now, I should be a friggin' editor-in-chief.
