So you believe in your husband submitting to you?

You say you have friends from all walks of life, but do you support those friends? Like do you support your gay friend as not being a sinner according to the Bible and you would support gay marriage?

My husband cheerfully submits to me at times, as I do to him.

My friends that I mentioned are close friends, the gay friend was in our wedding party.

So you don't believe the Bible teaches being gay is a sin and you do support gay marriage? It is hard to tell from your reply. I know plenty of people who would let gay people be in their wedding but wouldn't vote for gay marriage.

Fundie Lite, I am a Christian and familiar with the Bible. Ephesians tells husbands to love their wives, not submit to them. And you haven't answered my question on socialism.

It's a difficult question that I'm not sure I know the answer to. I try to treat my friend the way that I would want to be treated.

Why is it difficult? Either, yes I think the Bible teaches being gay is a sin and I believe this. Or no I don't think the Bible teaches that and I don't believe that. Yes, I would vote for gay marriage. No I wouldn't vote for gay marriage.

It is actually extremely easy to answer unless you are trying to hide what you believe because you know you beliefs are offensive and harmful.

You don't know if you would vote for gay marriage? That makes no sense. Why wouldn't you vote for it?

Why does being undecided about something make "no sense"?

*Edited to correct a double negative.

Because there is no reason to not vote for gay marriage unless you believe it is a sin and want to force your religion on others? Unless you have another reason you are undecided. What is it about gay people that makes you pause before allowing them to marry?

Do you have a firm opinion on everything? I don't. I waffle. I think a lot of people do.

I am still firm on what we watch in our home. I am firm on praying before meals. I am firm on providing a Catholic education. I am firm on remarriage after a divorce.

I don't judge others on their opinions about this stuff.

And.....I am torn on gay marriage, birth control, abortion, and a few other hot topics. I waffle. I am a thinking human being.

So if the issue were your ability to marry, would you want them to be undecided about whether you should be allowed?

Also, sort of related, but I read something somewhere about not treating others how you'd want to be treated, but how they want to be treated. And that seems like better advice, generally.

What is there to waffle about with gay marriage? Why shouldn't gay people get married.

I live in a place where gay marriage is already legal, so having to vote on it isn't something that I have spend a lot of time thinking about. It's also not an issue that my gay friends have brought up either, so it's not really something I've talked about socially either.

Oh why, why did I bump this thread.

PEANUT BUTTER!

Lol! Now don't get me started on peanut butter, that is one thing I have a firm opinion about. I hate the stuff! When my husband eats it, I make him brush his teeth afterward and then I spray air freshener all over the house to get rid of the smell.

Just because something is so cut and dry to you doesn't mean that it is to everyone else. Would you rather I just agreed with every idea that came my way, or thought through issues and came to a decision based my own reasoning and consciousness?

*Edited because I pressed submit too early.

So you aren't undecided about gay marriage? You fully support gay people having the right to get married? I can get being undecided about what the Bible says because it is confusing.

Think through it, but at least you should be able to say why you are waffling over allowing gay people to get married. Why part of you thinks they shouldn't be able to get married. If you aren't able to explain that, then you aren't really thinking through your beliefs you are just spouting what you have been taught without thinking.

Why would you have to think about if you fully support gay people getting married though? Even though it is legal there, why wouldn't you just automatically say that you support it?

Do you automatically agree with everything unless given cause not to?
