Eliason was the founder of VCY America Radio Network:

According to this thread on Sharper Iron:

Quote

Definitiely a man from a different era. Vic was a regular attender (don't know if he was a member) of Calvary Baptist in Watertown, WI, which is very tightly associated with Maranatha. VCY was one of the few media outlets that continued to be influenced by fundamentalists… Vic was also influential with a lot in ultra-conservative political circles. He had a friendship with Gov. Scott Walker, and in his role as host of radio programs, was regularly connected with conservatives in Washington as a Reagan-era conservative.

A scandal erupted in 2011 when Vic began feuding with his daughter/producer, Ingrid Schlueter, and it appears that he rejected her even on his deathbed: https://ingridschlueter.wordpress.com/2014/10/31/vic-eliason-threatens-to-sue-daughters-and-families/

Thank you for posting links. I've followed Ingrid on & off for years, since before she & her father parted ways. At that time, Ingrid had a blog or website called Slice of Laodicea in addition to the radio show where she especially went after the prosperity gospel wing of evangelicals. Nonetheless, she was highly judgmental & condemning of anyone who didn't agree with her theologically. Pride, destruction, haughty spirit, fall, and all that.

Her father was a dreadful man, something, unfortunately for her, that she didn't see until after she & her family suffered extensively from his abuse. Her mother, in true patriarchal fashion, did not go against her late husband's wishes in these matters while he was alive although it's good she appears to be reconciling with her children.

Yes, Vic seemed to be so disliked-- even by many other conservatives. Just a very sour, unpleasant person. And I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
