‘Christian’ Radio Host: Ebola Will ‘Solve America’s Problems

This horror of a christian thinks ebola will wipe out gays and atheists. The total lack of compassion and total lack of Christianity in this one is amazing. This is what pisses me off about god he does not even stop monsters like this from making Christians look bad it is what makes me think if there is a god he sure does not care about Christianity.

ome people, when they look at the worst Ebola outbreak in history, hope for its quick end and for the safety of those in the communities affected. But others, like Christian Radio Host Rick Wiles, hope it spreads to the US and wipes out every last atheist and gay person in the country.

Wiles is one of those End of Days lunatics who seem to overtly fetishize the obliteration of humankind, in the hopes that only people like them will be left behind; they can finally have the planet all to their bigoted selves. He told listeners to Tuesday’s show:

“Now this Ebola epidemic can become a global pandemic and that’s another name for plague. It may be the great attitude adjustment that I believe is coming… Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion.â€

“If Ebola becomes a global plague, you better make sure the blood of Jesus is upon you, you better make sure you have been marked by the angels so that you are protected by God. If not, you may be a candidate to meet the Grim Reaper.â€

Uhhh...did he miss the part where the two people that were brought to America for treatment were with a Christian mission?

It's the same crap they said about AIDS and the same crap they'll say about whatever new, scary disease is in the headlines in 2034.

They're just looking for attention and and audience to listen to them spewing hatred.

But they're not the right kind of Christians!

Who needs vaccines?! I've got the markings of angels!!

Wait, is that like dogs marking? Did the angels pee on me?

Anyone who can look at the suffering of others and claim it's "God's Will" or that they hope it spreads elsewhere to kill more people is NOT a Christian. They're barely human beings.

Funny, I wonder what he'd say if he caught this disease?

This ass hat fails and his ilk would be just like Pat Robertson & Jerry Falwell after they survived the Rapture. ("We got rid of everything we hate, now what will we do?")

Sorry if anyone didn't understand my Obama post from above. It was from a different article about the same wacko. I mistakenly thought it was the same one posted. I wasn't trying to be political or anything.

"Wiles was enthusiastic Tuesday about the arrival of Ebola, but Right Wing Watch reported that he warned the previous day that President Barack Obama may intentionally spread the deadly virus through a mandatory and mysterious vaccine. That would somehow then allow Obama to declare martial law and force Americans into FEMA camps, the religious right broadcaster theorized."

A Catholic priest and two nuns from Spain are also fighting Ebola right now. I would also guess many of the current victims are some flavor of Christian

Six years later, I still don't get the animosity toward Obama. Exactly what has this man done to make conservatives so paranoid? He's not really all that liberal. He's mostly moderate. He's done nothing they suspected he would, he's kept some of Bush's policies in place, he's partial to corporate interests, and he basically gave in to insurance companies and Republicans when crafting the ACA. Hell, the ACA is a carbon copy of the plan the Republicans floated back in the 90s. Clinton was way more liberal than Obama and I don't remember hearing near the level of hysteria when he was president. All I can figure is that it's racism rearing it's ugly head. There really is no other explanation. Regardless, it gets tiring hearing the same nonsense over and over. It's to the point I just roll my eyes, chalk it up to a lack of intelligence, and move on.

And his name. Rather unfortunate that it sounds so foreign. Also, his family connections with an activist dad. Also, his college days. But what can you expect from someone who grew up in that era, really? The republicans had to dig up a stiff last time around to find someone with a kind of pristine background. Even dubya had some naughty days.

... i can't wait til Hilary is president. That's what will really rock. It could happen.

A friend from my fundie days is a young republicans activist who's met Ted Cruz. And he thinks that's going to be the competition. :popcorn2:

My favourite part of all this is that Wiles warns Christians to have "the blood of Christ" over them. Contact with contaminated blood is literally the best way for ebola to spread. If you're trying to avoid ebola during a pandemic, avoid being covered in ANYONE'S blood.

Yeah, but mostly because he's black. Any black president would have faced the same bullshit, as will the first woman president. I had to unfollow my own father on Facebook during the election season and have not re-followed him yet...the hate is palpable. I give Obama a lot of credit for always looking mostly cool and collected and laid back...if it were me targeted by these fearmonger haters, I would be scared to leave the building, ever.

IME, every president is extremely hated... I remember the hate being slathered on thick for Clinton, Bush, and now Obama, for pretty similar, ignorant reasons. YMMV, but I'm heard/seen/felt very little hate for Obama just because he's "black" (multiracial, really) it's always a bunch of other bullshit.
