HPV Vaccine does work!!

Be aware if you've ever had HPV, the vaccine increases your risk of cancer, which is one reason they moved it to lower ages.

I thought this article was far more detailed & nuanced http://www.theonc.org/author.asp?doc_id ... on_id=2414 It's from a site for oncology nurses

The bolded is not true (and your link clearly does NOT say that). FTR, HPV in general is of interest to oncology people because HPV itself causes cancer (both cervical and oral).

HPV vaccine is currently not recommended for people over age 26 because a) there is the assumption that most - not all - individuals have already been exposed to the strains of HPV that are covered by the vaccine, and b) (this is the major reason) at present there are no clinical trial results available that have been able to demonstrate more benefit than side-effect risk in the >26 age population. This does not mean that the recommendation will never change in the future. Keep in mind that originally, the offical recommendations were to vaccinate only girls; that has now been expanded to include boys, because more clinical trial data has become available. It takes time for clinical trial data to be collected.

There is anecdotal information that SOME Planned Parenthood offices will vaccinate women >26.
