Just fyi, it's Reber, not Reaver.  And I searched and could not find much on them.

It was interesting to me that in the beginning of the investigation law enforcement didn't even know who Josh was, not, like I had seen some people speculate, because he drew attention for another reason (like financial misdeeds) and the material was discovered in the search. Josh and his family may try, but they really can't claim this is persecution because they're Christians or because they're famous. Josh drew the attention of law enforcement purely because of what he did, not because he was on tv.

The legal people here pretty much told us this would happen (even though we were all hoping it wouldn't). So maybe it is at least noteworthy that the judge said it was a close call.

It is so clear that none of the people monitoring are likely to report if he does anything that violates the terms... they will try to pray it away or hide it rather than contact authorities. What a mess.

After seeing the Reber testimony, I was hopeful that I was dead wrong about what would happen. The judge seems to have good intentions, but I'm concerned Josh is going to use his narcissistic charm to convince them the charges are bogus, and he can be trusted.

I read Danica's story of being a victim of Josh.  I don't like Anna and she is an enabler (at minimum?) but, I can't help but feel disgusted at what he must have been forcing her to do and submit to in the bedroom.  If she complained about it to someone else, she likely would've been told to keep pleasing Josh or he'd cheat again and she'd be sinning.

@llucie just to be clear, Josh found a way to get around monitoring for this specific download/set of downloads/date. He installed that partition like a day before the download. I'd imagine the court's concern is that we do not know if he was previously using the dark web or even regular web to search for these images before partitioning. But based on what we've seen I'd guess so. In that case, Anna would know something was up, either what he was doing or at least that he was accessing the dark web.

Can we please stop feeling sorry for people who willingly enable this shit.  She could have told her husband no, she could have told the court she wasn't willing to watch him.  She yammered on about waiting to pray and preach at him or something.

Seriously - if they aren't responsible for their actions than neither is Josh and we should all send them big baskets of muffins in a show of support.

Josh admited to porn adiction when the Ashley Madison scandal, that explains them finding necesary to use Covenant Eyes, and not any suspicion on him doing CP.

Oh, there's no way this was his first time accessing these kinds of images. Installing a partition, downloading Tor, finding the sites that host those images...that takes planning and research.

If it was just straight up porn, okay and addiction is bad, especially since you have a family but at least it is legal. CP is disgusting beyond words.

Would Anna even know what she was looking at if she saw those sites on a report from Covenant Eyes? How sophisticated is the program, would it even capture info from the dark web.  I am so disgusted I can’t even process this.

She also admitted to lying at some point, so who knows what the truth is.
