GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) fans are upset after some Cork fans flew the Confederate Flag at a match in Croke Park this weekend. Cork refer to themselves as the 'Rebel County' and have a history of flying the flag at games. The GAA have been trying to stop the flag being used but people were particularly upset after the tragic events in Charlottesville this past weekend.

The significance of the flag is only recently being understood at home. Previously it was just seen as an accessory to liking country music or the Dukes of Hazard. But this anger at least shows that people are now rejecting the casual use of the flag and considering it's wider meaning and implications.
