Ontario's Anti-gay Top Prosecutor... Lowell Hunking

Don't know if this guy's been previously discussed.

Lowell Hunking is the top Crown Attorney responsible for most of Southern Ontario.

He until recently was the Chair of the Board of Governors for Emmanuel Bible College, a school with an anti-gay "lifestyle commitment."

He also uploads a ton of his sermons that are all filled with utter weirdness, such as:

- credit cards are a sign of the apocalypse (coming very soon - but don't worry, real Christians will have been raptured)

- He and his wife love Chick-Fil-A and go there whenever they visit America

-Anglicans base their church on a business model and what's popular, not the Bible

- All addictions are caused by not fearing the LORD and we could shut down all criminal courts if we eliminated addiction

- God got rid of the Spanish Armada because England was on the right side of faith

- Lots of anecdotes about missionaries converting "savages" "cannibals" and "Indians."

This guy's job is to argue Charter rights and criminal cases. :/

I did a quick search but didn't find anything particularly controversial in his cases.

As Crown Attorney, most of the job would be prosecuting accused criminals. His background before law school was as a cop, and he said that the ministry was actually less harsh toward criminals than the criminal justice system. The Charter cases, from the POV of the Crown Attorney, would mostly be about arguing that things didn't violate the Charter in any way that was too bad.

Obviously, if he refused to prosecute a gay bashing or otherwise allowed personal beliefs to interfere with his judgment, his job would be on the line.
