The New Jesus

And like the new Coke, the new Jesus just isn't any good, at least according to the manly blogger Gabriel at Thine is the Kingdom.

The Church of Marx cannot tolerate the Church of Christ, yet the Church of Marx needs a way to control a population which overwhelmingly claims to be part of the Church of Christ. Herein lies the sinister genius of the "new Jesus."

The left has at once hidden itself behind a facade of religious neutrality while subtly substituting the true tenets of Christianity with their new gospel; a gospel of redemption through social justice rather than the bloody Cross of Jesus Christ

He has a whole post where he blathers on about the evils of the new Jesus, the Church of Marx, and the leftist jihad. He really just hates anyone who doesn't agree with his version of god, even other Christians.

Here is some highlights, he kind of jumps around from point to point.

Yet perhaps the irony fades when seen in the light of two crucial truths; first, that the Jesus of their socialistic gospel is not the Jesus revealed in the pages of Scripture, but is an idol fashioned in the image of Marx; second, that the separation of Church and State is as impossible as the separation of soul and body.

There is perhaps no idea so important, so relevant, as this one is to the political climate of today. In a culture of bubble-wrapped, emasculated, truthless "tolerance," the political realm can acknowledge no god but Caesar.

I'm thinking his Jesus is fashioned in the image of Ayn Rand. He really likes her.

The question is not whether religion will be allowed in the realm of politics, but which religion.

Will it be Islam, with its brutal and tyrannical but self-consistent sharia? Humanism, with its arbitrary, self-contradictory, thoroughly lost and ultimately despotic platitudes? Christianity, with its loving, perfect, liberating laws? Or simply government as god, state as savior, the empty promise of redemption through men tainted by the very thing from which redemption is sought- sin?

Loving and liberating laws? You mean the ones that won't let gay couples get married? The ones that don't treat women as equal to men? The ones that send most of the world to hell for eternity? The ones that have been used for a very, very long time to murder, kill, and destroy anyone who isn't the right kind of Chrisitan? I'm guessing he doesn't mean the loving and accepting ones where Christians are all live and let live and keep their religion in their private lives. That would be the evil new Jesus speaking.

It is time for the great facade of secular neutrality to be torn down.

This is the real reason why all evidences of true Christianity must be stripped away from America's schools and courtrooms; not because religion cannot be allowed into the state, but because the Christian religion contradicts the religion of the State.

No, actually it isn't. There is no religion of the state. Laws should be based on facts and reality. Not a very old book of fiction and an invisible god whose message is so confusing that his own followers can't agree. That is why Christianity should be stripped away.

How can "thou shalt not steal" be displayed in a courtroom which endorses theft? How can "thou shalt not kill" be displayed in a school that provides abortifacients? How can "thou shalt not commit adultery" be displayed in a town hall which condones homosexuality?

Those remnants of Christian doctrine are heresy in the eyes of the priests and priestesses of this new religion, a religion with a new "Jesus," a new "Bible," and a new god.

The intolerance of the left only makes sense when it is understood for what it truly is; not the confused and arbitrary condemnation of religion by those who desire to preserve political purity, but rather a modern sort of inquisition, a jihad, a crusade against the one religion which a monolithic magisterium of socialism cannot withstand:

Biblical Christianity

Well, let's see, the courts are not actually stealing from you. If you don't like the tax system you get to vote for different politicians, your politicians not winning doesn't make this stealing. Birth control is not murder. Science, my dear, go google it. And I bet that gay couples aren't a fan of adultery either. Not being able to force your religion on everyone else isn't any sort of persecution. The fact that you have to keep your faith personal and not force it on others is actually not a bad thing. You don't want people to force their religion on you so you don't get to do that to others, it is very, very simple.

Has he READ the Bible? Jesus had a lot to say about radical socialism and handwaved the guvmint in favour of wandering around as a fringe group.

This is just another variation on the blasphemous bullshit that "I've got mine; fuck you" is actually a tenet of either Jewish or Christian religious law - and from a man so Bible-illiterate as to try uniting the incompatible ideas of unfettered capitalism to the Biblical model(s) for social justice. (Hint: Biblical authors disagreed on so many points across the centuries of all the letters, poems, and histories since gathered into the corpus of religious law. One of the few views the vast majority of these authors did share, however, was that a just society worthy of support from God is one wherein the needy are helped rather than oppressed.)

Well obviously you are a member of the Church of Marx. These people would kill Jesus in a second because he wandered around, saying fuck it to all the religious rules, telling his disciples to not go and hurt people, and he even had women travel with him and support him.

RANT COMING: Jesus did teach socialism or, at least, left leaning concepts. Jesus said that if you don't help the poor, he won't know you after death. Even those who called him Lord won't get into heaven if they didn't help the poor. Jesus did indeed teach you must do something to be saved.

The Right would not like the real Jesus.

I've noticed that the cruelest Christians often ignore anything in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Instead, they concentrate heavily on Paul

He also said to pay your taxes.

He also said to pay your taxes.

Exactly, he didn't say only pay the taxes you agree with and want to pay, everything else is the big, bad, evil government stealing from you.

I am in a Marxist political party (so, not exactly marxist, but anti-capitalist and communist) in my country, and something tells me that this man has not read Marx ... and not read the Bible... (and not Caritas in Vertias by Benedict XVI, if he's catholic...). But why complicate life in reading books when it is most simply to repeat what the leader said without understanding and when is is most simply to act like a retarded teenager : "I do what I want because I'm right and you no ! nanana !" :angry-banghead:
