Last thread here:

Thanks, Austin for the thread title idea. You're a real pal! ;)

Joy is 18 weeks along, per one of the newer Instagram posts, and she and her husband are going to pro-life rallys. That sounds festive. No definitive word on whether they've moved into their house yet, but for their sakes, I hope it's soon.

Carry on, y'all!

Rah, rah, rah, yay fetus!!! And make sure to vote for those politicians who let CHIP expire, because once it's no longer a fetus, who cares if the kid has access to health care? Who cares about ANYTHING that happens to them, once they're born?

I am so sick of these hypocrites!!!!

@CarrotCake  from the previous thread I can't see to quote.

No, I don't think they've annouced the sex, I am just going by the fact  she showed really quickly as I did with my son.

And I am dead set against any females being born into this mess.

I'm curious, have the Duggars taken a definitive stance (or Gothard) on medically necessary, life saving situations for the mother?

I'm sure I could dig, but it seems their prenatal and birth care stance has changed between Michelle and her children (given most of the 19 were born in hospitals), which is a bit of a confusing backtrack. I'm assuming they're in the pray camp and it will all work out how it should.

ETA: Or when it's not the mother's choice, when it's whoever is her medical decision maker's choice? Mr. C and I had that necessary, but unpleasant conversation over what he would decide, how I felt on the topic. I don't get the impression the girls even have a say in that.

Ughhhh here we go again. Why do they insist on using their social media to preach their hate speech? Is it because it's showing "good testimony"? Do they think this will convert people to their cause?

I notice Josiah posted a serious, brooding pro-life selfie too. Put me on the "pimping Josiah out for a bride" bandwagon.

I will always be pro-choice, however this is my favourite comment from Joy's post:

I thought the hashtag said "Westan for Life" and that their unborn baby Westan was already getting political.

anyway, fuck Joy. She has all the hateful, ignorant beliefs of the rest of her family but without the intelligence to keep it off social media. She really is Jill's daughter.

Awesome a political pregnancy. She really is Jill's daughter.

LOL I just said the same thing. Soon it'll be a competition between them to see who can be the Absolute Worst of the Duggar daughters

Yea, they may have survived abortion, but how many children already born will not survive losing Chip? :kitty-cussing:

This makes me extra glad I sent an email to my congress critter today opposing the Pain Capable Fetus Act (Or whatever the hell it's called).  I added some stuff about how women who have late term abortions do not have them for funsies.  There are serious reasons why they need an abortion at that stage of pregnancy.  I also told him that fetuses don't feel pain at 20 weeks.  I know my letter won't do a damn bit of good since my rep is the odious asshole Trey Gowdy, but it sure felt good to express my opinion!

@onekidanddone, don't be silly!  Only fetuses matter to the forced birthers and then not so much.  They don't give a damn that the baby is born healthy, just born.  This is all about control of women and the patriarchy.

Michelle did attempt homebirth with Jinger and Joseph but she had bleeding complications so they stopped attempting homebirths.

Urgh. Using your pregnancy to push your views on people. No one wants to have an abortion! No one goes out and says "I want all versions of birth control to fail, so that I can get an abortion." The women who get abortions are not evil or cruel; often they are in a situation that they didn't expect and are overwhelmed, so they make a decision. It's not easy.

Jessa, Jill, and so on, have gotten angry because people judged them for little things on instagram. Judged them on their choices; well, try to walk with your head held high knowing that you have done what you need to do, when you have a holier than thou Christan calling you a murderer.

If there absolutely has to be a female born into this generation of Duggars, I hope she is Jinger's child. Or even Jessa's.

This might be the only time I say this.

But it's too bad Jill didn't have the good sense to follow Michelle's lead on that one.

Sometimes I feel bad for how much I judge the Duggars (especially second generation) and then they go and do stuff like this and that concern evaporates.

Knowing that they’d judge my upbringing more than I could ever judge theirs and have some religious righteous indignation over it too makes me lose any respect. I come from a liberal, pro-choice, pro-unions, anti-climate change, vegetarian family. I am an only child because my mum didn’t want the next decade of her life to be only about babies. My mother went back to work when I was 7 months and my parents did shifts so Dad had to (gasp!) do childcare! I wasn’t breastfed because I refused to latch after getting out of my incubator and that’s fine. I’m alive and thinking for myself. My parents raised me well. They raised me both encompassing some gender roles, but also letting me know that the world is my oyster and I could be whatever I wanted, housewife, astronaut, or magically the US president if I wanted.

But for all the political beliefs of my atheist, left wing, trade unions, go minorities family, I was always free to make my own decisions. And it’s when I remember that I feel sorry for Joy. Sorry but no longer forgiving. She’s an adult bringing a child into this world, it’s now on her to listen to the criticism and grow and change like a parent should. And ffs stop using unborn humans as political trophies, it’s so self serving because they know the evil commies over here in socialist Europe won’t ever listen to them. They know it’s only their select group of mostly American fundies who will defend them.

People keep saying Joy is just like Jill by politicizing her pregnancy, but I don't recall Jill doing that. I looked through her Instagram (and Derick's too) and didn't see anything. They've posted about abortion and stuff a few times, but I didn't see anything like what Joy posted. Was this on another social media platform or their website?

(The closest I can remember is that they announced the pregnancy with Israel early because of something about life mattering even early on, but I don't think they explicitly mentioned abortion.)

I don't recall Jill doing that either. I feel like Ben and Jessa have posted way more about abortion than Jill has - but people have recently decided that Jessa and Ben are the good guys and Jill and Derick are the bad guys, so I think Jill and Derick's shenanigans are being exaggerated a little, and Jessa and Ben's are being conveniently forgotten (and I say this as someone who really dislikes Jill and Derick - especially Derick - and probably has too much of a soft spot for Ben and Jessa).

I think that's also because Jill and Derick posted about being at the recent March for Life. Whereas, Ben and Jessa have been more quiet on the subject. Derick and Cathy tweeted asshole-ish things on the same day. As did Guinn Seewald but Ben and Jessa were quiet.

The goofiest thing Jill did during her first pregnancy was at Christmas when she tied a bow around her belly with a tag that said "To Jill and Derick, From God."

Yes, as someone who generally prefers Jessa and Ben to Jill and Derick, I've also noticed the recent trend that Jessa is basically superior in every way to Jill. But Jessa was the one comparing abortion to the holocaust, not Jill. Ben may not have voted for Trump but I'm betting he and Jessa still hold a lot of the same beliefs as the Dillards. Just because they're quieter about it (and Jessa is better about marketing herself and her adorable sons) doesn't mean that much has changed.

I mean, I get it. Jill is married to Derick and he's the asshole to end all assholes so naturally she gets some of the extra flack as well. But it does seem like she gets a lot of extra snark for no real reason other than because she's Jill.

I think they've all been holier than thou prolifers at some point on social media. Anna always used to post about abortion on Instagram I think. I wish they would all just shut up about it. It's been 44 years. Your generation will not abolish abortion like y'all want to claim. You're wasting your time and being an asshole while doing it.

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.

      Hello,

I'm brand new to this forum. It was suggested to me by former and outspoken Remnant Fellowship member (Natasha Pavlovich) that I join this forum and put out here what I do. She also warned me that no one on here trusts, or trusts easily, and that I'd likely be assumed to be a Remnant plant or spy until vetted and verified as not that. Fair enough.
In short, and in truth, I'm a psychotherapist with 25 yrs experience in Franklin TN (less than three miles from RF incidentally) with a special interest in working with people formerly associated with cults, cult-like or any and all high control intitutions. I'm especially interested in working with those desiring not only deconstruct, recover and learn to thrive post-indoctrination, but those desiring to recapture or cultivate an authentic sense of theology without walls, or spirituality with borders.
To date, I've worked with former Amish, Mennonite, LDS/FLDS, FOG, and a those representing a whole slew of evangelical, fire and brimstone fear/shame/guilt-inducing institutions.
I am especially interested in working with former Remnant Fellowship and Scientology members. I view RF as basically Scientology without the budget.
I'll leave it there. Much more can be gleaned about me through my website: therapyoutsidethebox.com or IG: @ therapyoutsidethebox

I'm a huge baseball fan. This year, MLB TV showed Liga Dominicana games in December and January and it was a fucking revelation. The players had so much fire and joy. The announcers with their charming DR accents were a blast, though I could hardly keep up with the Spanish. DItto the Serie del Caribe. As a White Sox fan, the MLB season is going to suffer by comparison. Te amo los Tigres del Licey!
