That gem of a man behind the movement to Christianize the US is now claiming that Bambi leads to pagan worship.

And the crazy train has left the station.

He goes on to drag Old Yeller, Peter Rabbit, Winnie the Pooh, and Grimm into this.

Didn't Michelle Duggar say that the family watched Bambi in one of her blog postings? Given how cavalier the Duggars are with their pets, it's obvious that watching Bambi did nothing to build empathy for animals for them. Besides, most Disney cartoons are simply bowdlerized versions of European fairy tales that have been around for hundreds of years, back when people weren't sentimental about animals or much or anything. I think Barton is simply against anything and everything in secular culture, because "Christian entertainment" is so bad that there's no way it could ever completely replace their secular equivalents.

Disney´s Bambi is a cartoonized version of the wonderful book "Bambi. Eine Lebensgeschichte aus dem Walde" (translation: Bambi, a story of life in the forrest) by the equally wonderful austrian writer F. Salten, who wrote it in the 1920s.

It´s a story of the circle of life & love, of liberty and hope. And of the eternal mystery that is the forrest itself.

Fuck you, David Barton!

**waves banners and flags** COME ON, Pagan-influenced (mindwashed) people! Bring it!

(But if you wouldn't mind, can we chase away the Ebil Bambis away from my front yard, and towards the local cornfields and soybean fields? They're SEVERELY clobbering my apple tree.)
