Vancouver Bans Dorrknobs; Communism Imminent

The city of Vancouver has gotten rid of all the doorknobs in city hall and has banned them in their building code for accessibility. Clearly, this means socialism and communism. Or something. Some nice sane comments illustrating the sheer horror of such an unspeakable act:

Nanny State socialists, taking away yet another right to choose - for your own good!

For all you complacent imbeciles and useful idiots out there who are letting them get away with this, you deserve what's commin' down the pike...

The utopians in gov't in Vancouver continue their endless social engineering project. You would hope that eventually the electorate their might decide they prefer their personal liberty to having their lives run by 'their betters' who know what's good for them.

Someone says something non-alarmist:

Oh people wake up, we are now in the 21st century. The ergonomic handle will be better for all. The rest of the improvements that are being done to this city will vastly improve the quality of life in this city for many years to come. Vancouver will be hailed as a pioneer in the new millennia and we will look back and be proud to say we were there.

Which someone disagrees with because people who use doorknobs will be executed:

The state's guns looks no different now than they did in the 20th Century. So here is how it will work out if someone decides not to abide with this edict:

Vancouver: We demand you replace all your doorknobs!

Homeowner: I'm not replacing all my doorknobs.

Vancouver: You have to or you will be fined!

Homeowner: I'm not going to pay your stupid fine

Vancouver: Then we will send men with guns to your house and have you thrown into a cage!

Homeowner: I won't let you throw me into a cage.

Vancouver: Then we will authorize those men shoot you if you resist!

Is that what you consider "pioneering" and something to be proud of, Glen?

Dear God, I really hope that is satire.

Anyway, I just thought the comments were kind of amusing and just a tad excessive. It is kind of sad that they got rid of all the nice old door knobs in city hall. Hopefully they preserve them as it would be a shame to lose that history.

I hope they're not serious! Vancouver has a lot of time on their hands. They don't have to discuss their mayor's drug use or maffia ties so they have time to think up things like this.

Boogalou, are you getting Vancouver mixed up with Toronto? I know that Rob Ford had admitted to using crack, but I didn't know anything about Vancouver.
