More on Fundies and Military

Our fundie bloggers don't seem to be much into joining the military themselves, but it looks like some circles of fundie-dom at least are very pro-military. This article from the HSLDA (wwwDOThsldaDOTorg/courtreport/V24N1/V24N114.asp) is all about the men of Patrick Henry College who see it as their duty to join up. BTW, Patrick Henry College is the fundie school started by Mike Farris to basically train up lots of conservative Christians to "take back the country". If you haven't read God's Harvard, which is about the school, it's a very interesting read.

Thanks, GenerationCedarchip. That's an interesting, if disturbing article. It is an odd thing though that many of the fundies we snark on are at once uber-patriots and assiduous avoiders of military service.

Nonetheless, there are many Christian fundies on active duty, and IIRC, a majority of the Protestant chaplains in the military are rabid fundies.
