wife of a street preacher

contrary

Recommended Posts

I have a special weakness for the VSC (very special crazy) of the street preachers' wives' blogs, though they don't often post.

lori at wifeofastreetpreacher.blogspot.com has a new one up, complaining about the receipt checker at walmart. nothing new here (the receipt checker is a woman, who is clearly not a christian because she's working and taking a job away from a man who needs it to support his family), but something about their rhetorical leaps and self-evident crazy fascinates me.

What a bitch!!! I guess if the old lady sat at home by herself and starved that would be ok because its the Christian thing to do? What if she is a widow or her husband is infirm and she has to work? Um, yeah, the Wal-Mart greeters are old people WHO NEED TO SUPPLIMENT THEIR INCOME SO THEY CAN EAT, BITCH! I would love to see the man who supports his family on a wal-mart salary...on yeah DNA...we already know how well that worked...

This is all KINDS of fun to read! From the second post, about being a Godly woman:

They do not need to be going off to college, where they will have a head that God never intended them to have, and where they will be learning to be outside of the home.

yeah. she's a loony tune. i like her blog, and sally's (a woman of prayer...recently gone private. woe!) sally has two young children that she bundles up in northern new york winters to go yell shit at hockey fans as they go in the arena.

they (and their husbands) are LOONY TOONZ. they are the ones who wave signs that say things like "GOD HATES FAGS", and their wives wax rhapsodic about what godly and fine men they are.

their own brand of crazy, for sure.

So, because the blogger has 'no evidence' the Walmart greeter was Christian, she is open to judge?

For all of Walmarts bad points with employees, one thing I give them a lot of 'credit' for is the fact that I've never walked into one and been greeted or had my receipt checked, by someone who was not - average? (That is so the wrong word but I haven't had coffee or tuned my brain on fully yet). Older, retired men AND women. Mentally & physically challenged young adults. How terrible Walmart is - and the world - to employ people who need jobs simply because they need a job.

If a man was trying to support his family as a Walmart greeter, I'd hate to see the conditions of that family. I'd also question the man because, really, Walmart greeter? That's the best you can do as a manly man doing your manly duty? I know the job market sucks (Oh, yes, I know it...) but really?

I think the blogger has a stick up her ass that is longer than she is tall. Even her 'they shouldn't be working' comment, as bad as it is, doesn't get to me as much as the 'no evidence' of being Christian. What the hell? She really calls someone's religious beliefs into question for - doing her job?

yeah. she's insane. she's one of those who cannot fathom why you don't understand that she's right. all of her views are self-evidently correct, and she really, truly fails to understand why the rest of us can't SEE that. it's right there, plain as day!

so, what would she said if she'd gotten a male psycho at the door at walmart? Hell of a leap from greeter overkill to women should all be heard and " she's obviously not a christian:

i'm pretty sure if it had been a man, she would have either done what she was told, or had to wait til her headship returned so he could deal with it.

Notice how brave she is, picking on someone who is not in a position to tell her off. As an ordinary shopper, I can freely tell this cow to STFU. But the Walmart greeter cannot, at least not if she wants to retain her job. She is using what she considers a privileged position to bully someone who can't escape from her.

This is the kind of cow who isn't happy unless she has an itch of some kind to scratch. If the greeter had been a man, she would have whined that Walmart was impeding customers from coming and going as they please.

Boy, those greeters have some nerve, working just because they like to eat on a regular basis.

OMG, what a bee-otch. Lady, you are leaving Wal Mart with stuff in your cart that you have no receipt for. What do you think should happen ? And the "women should not be working " stuff ? I'm sure you like to eat, crazylady. What makes you think it should be difficult for others to do so ?

.

Truly, i think that if the greeter had been a man, there would be no issue here. She would have waited quietly for her husband, shown him the receipt, and then left.

her issue is that it was a WOMAN. I really think if it was a man, doing his manly-man-of-a-job, she'd respect that.

"Gestapo Grambo"? What an idiotic thing to call someone.

I think it's fairly obvious that Lori, who devotes the first part of her latest post to the particulars of all her personal aches and pains, is something of a self-absorbed asshole.

And this is why I DO NOT miss working in retail.

I had plenty of customers like her...not fundies, but still extremely RUDE. I hope the Wal-Mart greeter finds her blog and does something similar to what I once did! I was trying to ring up a woman's purchases, and she was on her cell phone the entire time, talking loudly in Spanish, giving me nasty looks, etc. What she didn't realize is that I am part Hispanic and understood what she was saying. (I'm very light skinned.) About half of her cell phone conversation was about me...and it was very uncomplimentary. I continued the rest of the order in English, until I handed her the receipt, smiled, and said, "Gracias!" I have NEVER seen anyone leave the store faster. ;)

Damn, some of the worst color scheme in a blog I've ever seen. Can't even read it because of the poor contrast between background and text.

I got cornered by a customer that started preaching at me the other day. Sad part is that he was a friend of a regular, who we all like very much. The regular looked mortified when his friend started in on 'the blood of Jesus' bit. I just excused my self, and went back to work. Which is what I've learned to do over the years when some jerk figures they've gotten themselves a captive audience. Sadly, some of them start to follow you around.

She is jealous because they refused her hubby the same job. I mean foaming at the mouth is not a job qualification.

I wonder if she would see the irony of her words from her post before that one. Lets all make fun of a working woman who delayed me but let me admonish you in the post before this one.

The Lord has really laid on my heart the verse Matthew 12:36. "But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." I wonder how often we say things idly without thinking first. Our family likes to have fun and joke around, but sometimes the joking becomes overly silly and I just wonder how the Lord looks on that. There are even times that the joking becomes disrespectful. You know like a brother or sister responding to an older brother or sister and they do not have the correct tone, or step over the line in what is said. This doesn't just occur with children though, adults are just as guilty.

Good lord! Yeah, b/c God doesn't want anybody to have a sense of humor or enjoy anything ever! What must he be thinking, indeed? Is she kidding? What a joyless hag.

This woman would probably faint dead away if she spent 30 seconds in our house, but despite our variety of dysfunctions, I'd put our family's emotional health, happiness, and well-being up against hers any day of the week and twice on Sunday!

Her poor kids.

Great catch, lpl !!!! I'm mentally composing a response that compares & contrasters her Gestapo Grambo post with the one in which she pleads/exhorts/encourages/reminds us to not call people by bad names, to be patient, to be humble, to act in a christ-like manner. I'll post it if I can get some time on the ole Compy 486 tonight. No way I can stand to look at those colors on the smartphone.

She's exceptionally vile. I love it -- God would prefer you die on the street of starvation than you work at Walmart if you have the boobies. Stupid bitch.

Let's see if she posts this (and I signed my name on it too, so no excuse about anonymous posting here):

Wow, you'd have this woman starve to death or be thrown out of her home because you don't think she should work. What a wonderful, charitable example of "Christianity" you are. Given your snotty attitude, I suspect you would NOT be following what Jesus said, and let me quote here:

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." (Matthew 25:35-36)

Do you do any of that? Or do you just whine and moan about how this elderly woman is not a "keeper at home"? I know the answer to that question.

Deana Holmes

I work, I guess I'm going to hell since I'm not a "keeper at home." *spit* That's not how I was raised, by the way. I was raised to support myself.

That woman really is a nasty bitch, isn't she? Not only to the poor random person who dares to cross her path, but to anyone who dares to have a different opinion than she does and actually express it to her.

In the comments they talk of how Walmart is wicked and people there are all either grouchy or become grouchy by shopping there. She is living proof of that, isn't she?

I find the Vision Forum world [noticed they were linked on your blog here] to be lacking in truth. It is odd to me how many who follow groups like this assume every widow or aged lady even has a family or kind Christian husband to take care of her needs? And in how many cases are all those extended relatives all fellow born again Christians? I have noticed a growing cruelty towards the poor in Dominionist, Vision Forum influenced circles, they imagine everyone living on a lavish well endowed farm with great extended all "Christian" families and a lovely bible-believing [supposedly not fallen away but they are fallen away if they are in the trap of Dominionism] church right within the community. It is interesting to me how the Quiverful/patriarchy/ Vision Forum model neglects the realities of this wicked world we are in, that many women are often required to be out in the workplace even just to survive and eat. I have no ignorance to repent of in this matter, but the coldness shown to people facing economic realities, that impact their lives, I find deeply concerning. I wonder if this has come about via the false teachings you have found within Vision Forum.

As for the Word of God leading, Vision Forum departs from the Word of God in their Dominionism.

I dare say some of the judgement against this grandma in working a job, is misdirected. I bet anything she would rather be at home, taking care of her house, and spending time with her grandchildren, who sadly in the case of this society probably most likely live too long distance for her to see them on a regular basis.

If you check my blog, you will see I am ANYTHING but a modern day Christian, and stand against the falling away apostate churches. I happened to find this blog, and wanted to respond.

Those who want to turn "Christianity" into a new Taliban for women [let's not forget that women in Saudia Arabia cannot even leave home without an escort] have lost the way, and have bought into false doctrines.

I support street preaching and God's Word but having the attitude "oh tough she should go starve", is not Christian either.

I will pray for you, hoping that my words get through.

I like this guys comment, just because he sees VF for what it is. :) Hwever, I find it disgusting that she would call him an unbeliever just because he disagreed with her post. Such a bitch. I'm posting this comment

How dare you called Bible Believer an unbeliever just because he disagrees with your post? For someone who is supposed to be a Christian, you sure don't act like it. The Jesus I'm familiar with would not have been so quick to judge a woman for working or a person for having an opinion which differed from his own. Until you know the situation of the woman working at WalMart, you should not be judging her for working. For all you know, she could be trying to suppliment her retirement fund, she could just want something to do for a few hours a week, perhaps she lost her retirement fund during the recession if it was tied up in the stock market. Until you know her situation, it is not fair to judge her for working. Not everyone is lucky enough to have family or friends to support them.

Also, you said that if women left their jobs, it would free up jobs for men who need them. That might be true in theory, but in practice there will always be men who can't find jobs for some reason (such as being unqualified) and there will always be men who just are too lazy to work.

I hope it goes through.
