Pioneer Woman is anti-dating?

yep, I use or adapt a number of her recipes too. I like how visual they are -- it gives me a way to make sure I'm doing something right before I start experimenting. Most of my favorite food blogs are that way.

I can't add anything about raising teenagers. All I can say about my two is we survived each other and we still love each other. It was a freakin' free - for - all.

I just read the Pioneer Woman's post about dating on Cecily at Uppercase Woman's blog.

The "dating" discussion drives me nuts. At least where I live, teenagers don't "date". They hang out in groups and if a boy and a girl like each other they will pair off and (hopefully not) "Hook up". It is quite possible for your child to be sexually active and NEVER ever go on a "date". So, if Ree wants to delay her daughter's romantic and sexual activity so they can focus on other things, I think that is great but she will have to do something far more complicated than prevent"dating".

I'm such a lurker here, but I came across this hilarious account of a woman who followed a couple of the pioneer woman's recipes. It is so funny. And she is a good writer. I thought you would get a kick out of it like I did. And I felt guilted out of hiding by the Hey Lurkers thread!

The first one she follows the recipe for heating up Krispy Cream donuts:

And then she makes a cabbage dish which is a lot like tater tot casserole:

hilarious!
