No idea. I thought she said the purpose of her blog was to tell how she got out of her abusive situation. She's done that.

She might leave it up for others in the same situation, she might find herself adding to it in the future, she might take it down . . . in any case go Ruth!

Reading her blog reminds me of the difference between dysfunctional parents and toxic parents. Dysfunctional parents may mess their kids up pretty badly, but somewhere in the mess there is still love. Toxic parents see their kids purely as obstacles, consumable goods, convenient targets--or prizes in the game of I'm Super Spiritual and You're Not, Nyah Nyah. If they don't perform their assigned role, the toxic parent(s) feels entitled to do anything to bring the child back into line, because there is no love to whisper "Stop." The daughter who leaves the tower of fundamentalism will have Mother Gothel after her with a cozening smile, a frightening lie, and a knife.

She probably quit the blog because there was really no more to say. She told her story and ended it after she got engaged. Maybe she'll update it someday, but most likely she feels that having told her story, she wanted to move on with her life.

After reading her latest entry, seems Ruth is planning on keeping her readers on track, but is taking time off to attend to her wedding plans. Hope she keeps us all posted!
