Yeah, we had a little shaker here in the Bay Area. I've felt worse when the city plumbing jackhammer worked in the street for 3 days.

Irony: epicenter (3.9) about 10 miles from here where the landscape begins to turn purple, with a HUGE evangelical church cross to let you know. In this room, it was in the low-mid 3 range, two small ripples. That told me it was bigger elsewhere, but not huge. Even during Loma Prieta, 80 miles away, it was one big shaker.

So there! We got ours, too! At midnight!

I can't wait for Pat Robertson to weigh in. At least three earthquakes in 24 hours? It's OBVIOUSLY a sign of God's wrath against the eeeevil liberal, secret Muslim, witchcraft-practicing, abortion-loving, feminist, socialist gheys! I mean, DUH.

Or, you know, seismic activity. Whichever.

I hope everyone is ok! How scary this year has been with all the crap going on. This had darn well better not be the last days because I will not my local fundies tell me I told you so. Also I really want to eat my cake. :(

Ok all kidding aside, This is weird and I wonder why 3 different ones in such a short time period across the US. Any reports yet from the scientists?

The geek in me checked out this site and there was a bunch across the US. Little one but interesting as I didn't know so many states had fault lines/zones.

There was a bigger earthquake on the eastern seaboard yesterday (5.8 on the Richter scale), surely brough on by teh gays or Obama. The epicenter was about an hour's drive from Jerry Fallwell's megachurch.

I am quite certain all of the earthquakes on a single continent are all related to some generized increase in the earth's metabolic activity underneath us. Generally speaking, the earth seems to be more activeunder the surface for the last 30 years. The earth has done this before and it may even be ultimately a threat to many species. But is not the wrath of god. It happened before there were humans to invent god.

A quick perusal of the USGS site is enough to educate you on the fact that earthquakes are an extremely common daily occurrence. Arkansas is eaten up with them. I actually felt one last year, and my house settled as a result.

Oh, I thought you were talking about quake-aggedon over here on the east coast. There were no deaths and no serious property damage, but it was sort of a BFD here because we're not used to that sort of thing. I was pretty close to the epicenter and I'll admit that it was kind of exciting. But I am waiting for all the extremists to blame it on something they don't like.

One of my facebook friends quipped that there was actually no earthquake on the east coast. What really happend was that Chris Christie was taking a nap and fell out of bed!
