I remember when an Amber Alert went off in the middle of church. I think it was the first time that the new alert system had been used (with the loud, "obnoxious" beep), and afterwards, our minister explained what it was. The sound is attention-getting, and isn't that the point?

Ooooohhhh, y'all I done did it. Congresscritter's Veteran's liason evidently chewed some ass this morning. Best he could do for us is March 1, but it beats hell outta 3/11. Hubs said oncology dude was right pissy b/c of the congresscritter's office calling...my best guess is that the liason called the chief of medicine and sorta went off on him...ya know, why did you keep the vet's wife on HOLD for 25 minutes? Why didn't the patient advocate return phone calls, why didn't YOU return her phone calls? Ya know?· 3 replies

Got woken up by an amber alert for an 11-year-old kidnapped by her father. Just got the news that they found her deceased. There are no words. Please never complain about getting woken up by an amber alert. It just takes one person in the right place at the right time seeing it to potentially prevent a tragedy like this.· 4 replies

And, for what it's worth, they had no handicap placard. We just got one for my son and we don't use it unless we must. Someone could need it more.
