It makes sense though. A person doesn't understand something like evolution, because it's not always straightforward, so decides that it must all be the work of God.

Or one of those reasoning charts that goes something like this:

Bob is gay.

Bob likes to have sex with other men.

I am another man.

Bob wants to have sex with ME!

Hey rush sang about this. fear and prejudice walk hand in hand. both are a result of ignorance. This is why churches are loosing members because education is removing the ignorance.
