Alan Osmond deigned to enlighten the world today by letting us know that homosexuality can be cured! No wait, before you get excited about a great big anti-gay pill, catch what this wise old Mormon has to say -

Research has NOT proved that homosexuality is genetic. Even more important, many researchers whose studies have been used to support a biological model forhomosexuality have determined that their work has been MISINTERPRETED. What is clear is that homosexuality results from an interaction of social, biological, and psychological factors. These factors may include temperament, personality traits, sexual abuse, familial factors, and treatment by one’s peers.

Dude, there is a big difference between misinterpreted and wrong. A misinterpretation could mean a hundred different things. And temperament, personality traits, sexual abuse, familial factors and treatment of one's peers also create heterosexuals! Not even close to correlation.

You know that old adage that says the more macho a guy tries to be, the more the chance he has homosexual tendencies? Yeah, I take it with a grain of salt, too, but I couldn't help but find the last part of Osmond's article pretty funny -

Last year, Osmond revealed in an interview that The Osmonds had consulted with Chuck Norris in an effort to make their dance moves more "manly."

So the Osmond boys needed help being more manly? Why on Earth didn't they call Dougie? :lol:

Why is this dude even talking about homosexuality? Doesn't he realize that talking about how homosexuality can be "cured" only makes people think that you're probably in denial about your own sexuality? I can't hate* on gays "cured" by religion because I feel so bad that they are forcing themselves to live a lie.

*Actually, I can't really hate on someone who previously identified as gay but has been miraculously cured through prayer or whatever. But I can hate on someone like Marcus Bachmann** who makes a career out of making gays think they can be "cured" through prayer or whatever.

That's what I heard, although as far as I know it hasn't been confirmed. I believe he was attending a fashion design school, but that doesn't automatically mean you're gay. It just makes it that much worse if he was gay and his family couldn't accept him.

Marie Osmond has an openly gay daughter who seems to be fully accepted by her mother. The son who committed suicide had a history of drug abuse, including heroin use. He was the same age as one of the Brooklynettes and his death really struck me. Never really been an Osmond fan,but no mother should have to go through a child's suicide.
