Full disclosure: I haven't read this article yet. I can't bring myself to do it yet. But here it is.

@iweartanktops, the article is pretty short and factual, but that doesn't necessarily make it easier to read. The plain facts are sickening. Kill an unarmed black high school student and walk free; attempt to kill that killer and go to prison for 20 years.

I don't even know what to say. I haven't lost the ability to care, but I feel like I've run out of words for the moment.

Yeah, I mean, I'm not saying that he should have gotten away with it. Attempted murder or whatever, is attempted murder. But if there was vigilante justice, I certainly wouldn't cry about it. He is disgusting.

At some point, Zimmerman is going to be jailed for killing or seriously injuring someone else or he's going to be killed by a vigilante. If he had any kind of common sense, he'd change his name, drastically change his appearance, and disappear as much as possible. Constantly trying to get money from rightwing leghumpers only makes everyone angry and makes him seem like a volitile, cocky jerk.

I'm glad attempted murder merits a long sentence. I just wish Zimmerman had been found guilty and gotten a longer sentence than 20 years.

Even if Zimmerman disappeared from public life, I wonder if he could change enough to keep out of trouble. I have a horrid feeling that he would just end up in a different bad situation of his own creation in a few years. Real change is hard.

When I'm being logical and level-headed, I have to admit that I believe that attempted murder should be taken seriously and punished as appropriate.

But dammit, this is GZ, a man who murdered an innocent teen and got away with it ...

He also threatened a girlfriend with a gun, trashed her house, assaulted at least two other girlfriends, tweeted revenge porn of a girlfriend (along with her home address), shoved an undercover police officer ... GZ is everything that's wrong with a certain segment of society, and it pisses me off beyond belief that he's still walking around free as a bird without suffering a single negative consequence for any of his filthy, evil actions. HE IS A BAD MAN with incidents dating back to at least 2005 and possibly earlier. He should be the one behind bars for 20+ years.

My only problem with this is the other guy missed.

Zimmerman is a vile murderer who will kill again.
