Are we surprised? Like, even a little? If anyone is going to miss the point of art, it's these guys.

While this was a FOX affiliate that did this, it's definitely something the network itself would do. This prudish, Puritanical side of American society is exactly why we can't have nice things.

I just happened to see a music video today on youtube/VEVO that blurred out the penis on a nude statue. On a dance track with a warning for explicit lyrics. 8-)

Does anyone think critically anymore? Are corporations being overly cautious or something?

Just showed my daughter this and she was speechless, just sat there with her mouth hanging open! She's an art teacher at an art museum. She couldn't believe it, it was an abstract for goodness sake!

Bill O'Reilly's face offends me. Please blur that thing out (I know, too easy).

You know what this reminds me of? The Maxwell post where Abby and Bethany were baptized and Bethany's tummy was showing in the baptismal pool so Sarah colored it out with MS Paint to match Bethany's undershirt

I guess Georgia O'Keeffe "floral" paintings will not be shown on this station.

But its art! You cant go to a single art museum and not see a statue of a naked person or nude paintings. And there is no age limit to see them, kids from any age can see them, because it is not explicit. Its just a body, and it isn't designed to be porn.

I was in an Art Enrichment program as a kid (pre-teen) and we went on a field trip to the art gallery. We saw a lot more than just breasts! None of the parents tried to sue the school, and none of us kids were emotionally scarred by the experience... Wonder what Fox "News" would think of that!?

I don't understand blurring out of nudity anyway. People have bodies. Show them. Show all of them. Who the fuck cares? I don't even care if people show pictures of hard core porn - we need to get over it. Animals will do it in a zoo. Why is there still a taboo on public nudity?

Also, you have no idea how many bare asses I've seen in the past few years in parking lots next to trail heads. The novelty of seeing someone change clothes in public wears off quickly. So does the shame of "someone" seeing you, especially when you are covered with mud and you are sweaty and wet and cold.

Why bother? Picasso can be abstract enough as it is. Just tell the kids that those are misplaced kneecaps. Really poofy kneecaps. With buttons on them. No? :P

I swear they just want something to be offended by. When I think of porn, Picasso is not the first place my mind goes, but hey, something for everyone. And after spending over a half hour this morning trying to find suitable work clothes, I'm all for the let's all just go naked thing. So much easier and a whole lot less to obsess over if we just all put it out there.

May I just say that I love that we are calling them tits in this thread title? And the blurring of, well, tits, in art is beyond ridiculous. What the holy fuck is wrong with people? Seriously! But I guess in a world where we blur Jill's kneecaps it makes perfect sense. :cray-cray:

Oh damn! I forgot that the sight of kneecaps were a sin second only to boobs. That's it then. They must be blurred out. Save us all from the sin of Picasso porn.

Fox News offends me. It should be blurred out and muted at all times.

Cats are the best. They seriously have an expression for every occasion. Plus, you can't beat the attitude. :wink-kitty:

If I had the money, I'd pay to ship these guys out to Austria and make them spend the better part of the day locked up in a room with a bunch of Egon Shieles.

It's too bad these guys weren't at the zoo when my 3 year old walked by a bull statue and shouted "HE HAVE A PENIS!!!!!!" in front of everyone!

No wait, that was just hilarious, and true. My 3 year olds have also been to art museums, commented on penises on statues, or boobs on statues. Same as they commented on that one has a volcano! And that other painting has THE MOON (which they love more than all the boobs and penises in the world at this point).

People can be so uptight.

It's cool to see people get excited about art! Especially younger people :greetings-clappingorange:
