Political Approval of Scientific Findings Bill

Lamar Smith, my favorite anti-science legislator from Texas, has introduced a bill that would require any federally funded research to be reviewed and approved by a political committee. For accountability. As I recall, he has a history of wanting research halted which goes against the policies his donors want passed.

I think what is good for the goose should be good for the gander. If there needs to be political approval for scientific research, maybe there should be scientific approval for political decisions? :D :D :D

This reminds me our idiot governor, Nikki Haley, who suppressed a report on how climate change would impact the state's economy that was done by the state Department of Natural Resources.
