I think Jessa was the first Duggar daughter to realize that Open, Dump and Bake ala cooking in Duggarville is not what most people are talking about when they refer to a well honed cook and homemaker. IMO, it's just another example of "only knowing what you know" and "what you know becomes your reality."

Living in CA, I grew up eating only fresh products- No canned or frozen (in my day those were not the best quality either + expensive) foods or casseroles. It's just not how my parents rolled, so that became my reality. Spaghetti sauce was homemade, veggies were Farmer's Market or from the garden, same with fruits. A banana rarely graced our home, not local and probably too $$$. My parents, who are well into their 80s, often talk about how they were the original Green and Nutrition experts.

The Duggars' reality is very, very different from the RW.  Sadly, most of them don't know just how different. I think Jessa and Jinger were quick to see those differences and have made adjustments. Jill, OTOH, and despite her gypsy lifestyle since becoming a Dillard, has had a much harder time identifying and accepting the realities of life outside of Duggarville.

That would make sense. Didn't they say Ben liked to go in the pantry and read off the ingredients or something off their can food? Maybe his family recipes were different then whatever Jessa was taught growing up? And tasted better.

Ben also likes to go to the grocery store and pick up food he finds interesting we say him bring plantains and Leeches home in the last season so it's good that Jessa is getting introduced to new foods.

I wonder how much of this may be due to how invested Jill feels in IBLP versus how invested her sisters feel. Jessa and Jinger are just as fundie as Jill is right now, but I get the feeling that Jill - like Jana - was relied on by her parents much more than the other daughters were. Some of the people who escaped Scientology put it best when they said the more time and money you invest in something the more likely you are to stick with it because leaving means admitting you wasted a ton of time and resources. That can be a very difficult pill to swallow for a lot of people, but it would be especially hard for someone who is a natural people pleaser like Jill is.

If so, I'm not surprised.  Migraine + sinus infection = one confused 3splenty.

Does that mean Jill is going to "North Oklahoma,SW Missouri, S Kansas area", which is where the facebook page for the practice says they work? How far would that be for Jill to travel? She probably couldn't make it a regular thing. From previous discussions I gather Vanessa Giron can't practice in Arkansas but can in the other states like Oklahoma.

Assuming Jill lives in Tontitown, Oklahoma is 20 miles away. Missouri is 29 miles away. Kansas is about 90 miles.

And more specifically, Tontitown to Tulsa, where the AMB Midwifery FB page says that Venessa is based, is around 100 miles and 1 hr and 45 minutes, with most of that a straight shot on I-44/US-412. If Venessa is travelling around, Jill could be helping with the births that are between Tulsa and the Tontitown area and not having to travel very far herself, given that @SapphireSlytherin noted that the Oklahoma border itself is only 20 miles away.

Jill wants to be a midwife. Not a missionary, but a US midwife. She needs to realize her own sunken cost fallacy and GET ACCREDITED. Idk how that works with finances or Dericks permission (gag) but Jill is another person who wants more than to be a broodmare, and it’s so heartbreaking to see her get close but not quite get there. She could be happier and more fulfilled with a local midwife team. Just PLEASE don’t play with people’s lives Jill!

Had Jill gone through with a proper accreditation and joined a proper midwifery practice, her life would be very different and much happier. She actually really does seem to have a passion for it, she doesn't strike me as the sharpest knife in the drawer BUT she comes across as fairly gentle and kind and that could be reassuring to many patients.

I wouldn't let Jill near anyone about ready to give birth or giving birth. Leaves me very uneasy to be honest.

To confirm the drive between Tulsa & Fayetteville area is a straight shot. The last leg is on the turnpike for the Oklahoma side and somewhat fun roads with twist and turns. It was one of my favorite parts when I lived in the area. One of things I hated was that cell signal would drop 10 minutes in and only return once the casino came in view. But if Jill is doing that drive it's a straight to Tulsa and to Kansas the only real problem Jill could encounter for the trip is the cops are constantly out. Driving through Mayes County on the highway it's not uncommon to see 10 cops car. While Rogers & where she could be going in Tulsa it hovers around a minimum of 5.



Now for the birthing aspect All I can think is that if something went wrong during those home births in that part Oklahoma those nearby hospitals are horrible. Or at least the ones in Mayes County, the County that would be halfway, if things went bad I can imagine what the outcome would be. The care there is the worst I have ever came across.

Can't say I'd want Jill around me if I were giving birth. I really hate that Venessa or however you spell it, is still practicing. It's so unsafe.
