Help! Articles or Sources on Quiverfull & Patriarchy

Hi everyone! I am doing a research paper specifically on the women oppression in the Quiverfull movement and Christian Patriarchy in Fundamentalism and focusing also on the Gothard scandals. My thesis is that the Patriarchal Quiverfull movement is abusive since it hurts & oppresses women. Does anyone have any sources, articles, or books they can recommend? I am having SO much trouble finding sources and am so worried about the outcome of this paper :angry-banghead: . I really want to teach the class about the danger of this movement.

I haven't read any of them. I recommend looking at their sources as well, as they may be relevant for you.

If you have a research librarian at your school that can assist, I would recommend speaking with them.

Wow I am so glad you posted this. I am doing the same thing, no kidding. Just wasn't sure what to ask or how.

Can I use Free Jinger as a source? Is it appropriate to use member experiences within the cult?

Hope we don't go to the same school or have the same teacher... Then I would have to change topics lol

By the way I have access to the Embassy videos. There's lots of videos about JTTH, Jim Bob and Michelle, Bill Gothard, and much more. PM me if you wanna see then. They might give you some ideas.

I'm reviewing research papers for my law journal- I'll try to find a source that I read on religious systems and patriarchy, if the author hasn't pulled it.

Found the piece- It's on religious courts and justice systems and oppression of women- also looks at Islamic sources, but Christian ones too. PM me for my e-mail if you want it. Warning, quite dense.

I took some of the sources from the Wikipedia article about Gothard. (I am not using Wikipedia as a source, I'm looking at their sources and using those)

I need someone to point me in the right direction. Did Gothard actually START the Quiverfull movement? Has he stated anything about being Quiverfull?

Basically I need something to connect Gothard to the Quiverfull movement

I appreciate this thread because we have an ongoing weekly writing assignment at my school and I wrote about sexism and how I oppose Husbands beating the head and, in extreme fundamentalism, the son. My professor left a note that this never happens.
