Although... Is lifting a ban on same sex marriage the same as having it be legal? I'm a bit skeptical that this is anything more than a baby step.

From what I understand, it's going to be appealed but unlike other recent rulings it wasn't made with a hold pending the appeals. So some places are making sure marriages can be and are done ASAP. Once appeals are submitted it'll halt I think. With marriages having happened though it'll be even harder to appeal successfully.
